After going viral with a promotional video for all the wrong reasons, Williams has taken drastic action to delete it.
The former TV host, who was ousted from her own BET talk, The Wendy Williams Show in June — is back.
The veteran media personality took to Instagram this week to enthusiastically announce that she is set to make her big return.
This time around, Wendy Williams will be sharing her flamboyant and controversial opinions on the entertainment world via a podcast called The Wendy Experience.
On Wednesday, the 58-year-old mogul appeared in a brief promo video for the new project and delivered a message to her fans.
Facing the camera very closely, she said: “Co-hosts, I’m famous, and I’ll be back, trust me.”
The caption for the clip read: “TRUST ME, and I will be BACK! #wendyexperiencepodcast #welcome #back #stay #positive #cohost #nyc”
Williams was flooded with comments from fans who voiced their concerns.
Many told her that they love her and appreciate all the efforts that she is making to return to her job as a talk show host.
However, they are worried about her health and overall mental well-being. While most of the commenters suggested that Williams take some time out to heal after her numerous health scares (some occurred on live TV), a few were harsh and focused on her appearance and behavior, which is deemed erratic.
The negativity got to Wendy Williams, and she opted to remove the post.
A source close to Williams spoke to Page Six, and the comment did not reassure her fans.
The person in the know told the New York media outlet: “Things are really off. It’s not the same, Wendy … She’s regressed like crazy, and her family in Florida is very worried for her.”
However, Williams’s rep, William Selby, has decided to address some of the speculations spreading around.
Selby told PEOPLE that Williams is happy and is doing well in both her personal and professional life.
The spokesperson said that Williams is happy to be dating a New York Police Department officer named Henry and is eager to launch her new podcast and added: “Wendy is excited about everything new in her life, and her main priority is her health and shooting the first episode of her podcast. That’s the focus right now.”
Selby continued: “She wants to take things slow and really put her focus into launching the podcast. Wendy is in a sweet spot in her life where she can stop, breathe and smell the roses. Everyone knows Wendy has been a workhorse her entire life, and she is just looking to get back on the horse.”
The podcast and the revelation of the boyfriend came after another strange episode for Williams, who was forced to release several videos after her bank, Wells Fargo, made it impossible to access her money.
