Pete Davidson is doing much better after splitting from Kim Kardashian earlier this month. The Saturday Night Live alum flashed a peace sign to photographers after they spotted him in Australia.
The 28-year-old comedian is currently Down Under filming his latest movie, Wizards! also starring Orlando Bloom and Naomi Scott. The breakup was not simple, but he is getting back up.
Moreover, his mother and sister are very present to cheer him up. However, he is also getting advice on how to bounce back from an unexpected source, his co-star, Bloom, who has had to deal with some very high-profile public splits.
An insider spoke to Hollywood Life and said: “One of the first people who approached Pete about it was Orlando while they were working in Australia together. Orlando and Pete have become very close these past several weeks, so Pete felt comfortable opening up to him.”
The source added: “Orlando explained how he’s been in the same situation and to try and not take things too hard. He said whatever is meant to be, will be, and to focus on doing him for the time being.”
The person close to Davidson concluded: “Once he goes back home if he wants, he can try to work to repair their relationship. Until then, Orlando explained to just give Kim some space and reconnect when the time feels right. Pete is so thankful for Orlando stepping up and showing his support. It meant the world to him.”
Reconnecting with Kardashian is just a positive spin because people close to the two celebrities are adamant that both want to move on and leave all of this behind.
The nine-month relationship with Kardashian forced Davidson to seek help and start “trauma therapy.” Kim Kardashian’s ex-husband, Kanye West, harassed him online.
The fashion mogul also did it this month after the breakup was made official with a fake headline on Instagram: “Skete Davidson Dead at Age 28.” The drama was too much for Davidson, who has a long history of mental health issues.
A second insider told Entertainment Tonight: “Pete is bummed things didn’t work out with Kim, but he is focused on the future in terms of his career and personal life.”
Moreover, Kardashian is dealing with her own set of issues. Insiders close to the 41-year-old mother of four say she has not really been her “authentic self” recently.
They say while she wants to be seen as a rock always focused on her success, she is also a woman with two failed relationships in less than two years. She is also someone who likes to be in love, so this moment is not fun for her.
To make matters worse, while co-parenting has been better with West, he is still not in a rush for the divorce to be finalized. Of course, there is also the eternal question for someone in Kardashian’s shoes, how can you stay on top when the industry is constantly changing?
In short, Kardashian is mostly a doer, but lately, she has been doing a lot of thinking, according to people who know her best.
