It is claimed that Prince Harry, by choosing a career-driven woman like Meghan Markle as his wife, has probably set a complicated pattern for his niece and nephews and the Monarchy.
Most members of the British royal family wed aristocrats or picked spouses dedicated to service. These spouses are often loyal to the Monarchy and Queen Elizabeth II.
However, Prince Harry appeared to have broken the mold with a heavy hammer by marrying Markle — a former actress, brilliant mind, and activist with big ambitions.
Markle is eyeing success and wealth while being a philanthropist. The Californian is determined and has, therefore, signed multiple deals and launched companies to reach her massive financial dreams.
As Markle said in her interview in The Cut — she believes that little girls can be princesses and they can marry princes while simultaneously having huge ambitions for their lives.
Meghan Markle stated: “Even with the Oprah interview, I was conscious of the fact that there are little girls that I meet, and they’re just like, ‘Oh my God, it’s a real-life princess. I just look at all of them and think, ‘You have the power within you to create a life greater than any fairy tale you’ve ever read.’… You can be up against what could feel like the greatest obstacle, and then you can find happiness again.”
While many see Markle as an example of a successful woman, others believe that she has gone too far with her goals and is setting a nightmarish precedent for Prince William and Kate Middleton‘s three children — Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
According to royal experts, Markle is making it okay for the next generation of love interests who enter the royal family to use the Monarchy as a stepping stool to reach their bigger goals of being rich and famous.
Appearing on Mail+‘s Palace Confidential, royal commentator Dr. Tessa Dunlop had this to say on the matter: “The bigger picture here, surely, is that in America, where success is much more judged on money and status and the brand, Meghan has blown it out of the water. She is top of the Spotify rankings. Everyone is talking about her, whether negative or positive.”
The royal historian added: “And I think that is a nightmare for the Cambridges going forward. Anybody who is going to want to marry their children, is it going to be for the tinsel, the mantel, to run off into the sunset and create some other idea of royalty? I think it is actually a longer-term nightmare for the institution of Monarchy in our country.”
Some argue that Prince William and Kate Middleton are not afraid of the road map created by Meghan Markle and Prince Harry because they have selected Lambrook, a prestigious prep school for their children.
Kensington Palace said in a statement recently: “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have today announced that Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis will attend Lambrook School in Berkshire from September 2022. Their Royal Highnesses are hugely grateful to Thomas’s Battersea, where George and Charlotte have had a happy start to their education since 2017 and 2019, respectively, and are pleased to have found a school for all three of their children [that] shares a similar ethos and values to Thomas’s.”
The children will receive a co-educational and will not be meddling with many aristocrats. Instead, they will attend class and befriend children who are mostly from “professional and business backgrounds.”
The bold choice of school seems to indicate that Prince William and Middleton want their children to meet and interact with other people who are not royals.
