In a matter of weeks, Prince William and his younger brother, Prince Harry, will face a reversal of the situation.
At the moment, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are in London and are staying just walking distance from Kate Middleton and Prince William — but the foursome will not meet.
Later this year, the future King and Queen of England will be in the United States to host the annual Earthshot prize.
Prince Wiliam and his wife are expected to travel to New York for a charity event — and once more, they will not see Prince Harry and Markle, who reside on the West Coast with their two children, Archie and Lilibet.
It has been revealed via royal experts and insiders that the Duke of Cambridge and his spouse made the conscious decision to have the ceremony on the East Coast to avoid all contact with Prince Harry and his family.
Prince William demonstrated his skills at staying away from the Duke of Sussex and his wife during Queen Elizabeth II‘s Platinum Jubilee.
According to many royal commentators and friends, the heir to the throne will snub Prince Harry until the publication of his highly anticipated tell-all book.
The Daily Mail‘s Diary Editor Richard Eden and The Mail on Sunday‘s Charlotte Griffiths weighed in on the matter.
Eden said: “William and Harry were in the same cathedral – St Paul’s in London and they were kept apart for the whole time. They didn’t meet up once while Harry and Meghan were in London.”
Eden added: “So the idea that when he’s in the same vast country, that they might pop over for tea, really is for the birds. It’s not going to happen.”
Griffiths responded: “They have gone for the opposite coast. That is quite telling, isn’t it? Imagine if he had chosen California!”
On Wednesday, Prince Harry and Markle’s friend and royal biographer, Omid Scobie, revealed that Prince Harry and Markle have not and will not be snubbed by Prince William and his spouse.
According to Scobie’s sources, Prince Harry and Markle have not reached out to Prince William and Middleton and do not plan to do so until some accountability is taken.
Via Yahoo, he wrote: “There’s a laughable effort to suggest the [Sussexes] have been shunned, someone familiar with the current family dynamics tells me. “The true story is, they never reached out to the Cambridges. Even a senior palace aide confessed to me, “Looking at [the coverage], you would be forgiven for thinking that certain family members have had a say in the matter. They have not.”
The bestselling author revealed that Prince Harry blames Prince William for many painful moments and is waiting for him to take account and address them.
The royal commentator claimed: “People are desperate for steps to be made, but behind the scenes, there hasn’t been movement,” explains a family friend. “What [Harry] is waiting for is accountability… Many lines were crossed by William. He was at the center of a number of painful moments, be it the actions of his own staff or turning his back when support was needed. It was a dark time and one that, so far, William has been unprepared to unpack.”
The two royal couples are not closer to making peace.
