Many have said that Queen Elizabeth II‘s dying wish was that her family would end the bitter royal rift that has been going on for the past three years.
The latest confirmed reports that have come out of King Charles III‘s Kingdom are hopeful.
According to a reliable source who spoke to the British media, King Charles, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle might be able to honor Queen Elizabeth’s wish.
The royal insider told The Telegraph that King Charles has been able to have multiple meetings and conversations with his son and daughter-in-law, and he is now hopeful that there will be a reconciliation.
The media outlet reported that Prince Harry, Markle, and the new King did talk during Queen Elizabeth’s state funeral at Westminster Abbey.
The trio also had private conversations while at Windsor estate. They gathered with other royals, including Prince William and Kate Middleton, for a dinner where they remembered and paid tribute to the late Queen.
During those closed-door conversations, Prince Charles saw “tremendous flickers of hope” that “the cold war” was finally over.
The King’s talks with The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have led him to the feeling that he can repair the broken relationship.
It is believed that King Charles and the British royals took their distance from Prince Harry and Markle after “Megxit” and the bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey.
An insider who spoke to The Telegraph had the following to say about these breakthrough conversations: “It remains the case that the King loves both of his children. Over the last 16 days or so, there were tremendous flickers of hope. In terms of the future, there is the hope of a cause for unity.”
While King Charles and Sussex are walking towards reconciliation, they still have several thorny issues to deal with.
Archie and Lilibet Diana‘s titles and Prince Harry’s tell-all book are controversies looming over the horizon.
King Charles’s official spokesperson has yet to clearly and adequately explain why Prince William and Kate Middleton’s three children had their titles automatically changed and not the same was done for Prince Harry’s two kids.
The spokesperson said this on September 10: “While the website was updated for the Waleses, clearly updating love on a website doesn’t quite work, so we’ve not quite done that, but clearly he does love [the Sussex children].”
As for the tell-all memoir, a source close to Prince Harry told The Daily Mail that he is urgently trying to revise multiple chapters because he fears his words could anger King Charles and other relatives.
