Prince Harry has changed the British monarchy in ways that are not always obvious. The father of two and his wife, Meghan Markle, have built a brand on honesty.
The renegade royals are not afraid to share with the world the way they feel. They have put mental health and wellness in general at the forefront of their public persona.
The British royal family is taking note and is trying to build on the same ideas the power couple has been pushing. Interestingly, Prince William is slowly borrowing some of the themes that his brother has embraced.
The heir to the throne has recently shown more urgency in his advocacy for climate change. Hid did not stop there. Mental health has become more prominent on his agenda.
The Duke of Sussex has always been open about his struggles and the need for others to seek help. Well, the future King of England is now showing more vulnerability when talking about these kinds of issues.
This is new territory for an important member of the Royal Family. Prince William and his spouse, Kate Middleton, have taped a special for BBC Radio 1’s Newsbeat to mark World Mental Health Day.
The 40-year-old father of three shared some remarks that seemed a bit more personal than usual. While talking about the need for mental health awareness, he seemed to allude to his mother, Princess Diana‘s death.
The Prince of Wales also appeared to also make a reference to his situation with Prince Harry. He said: “You can be living one life one minute, and something massively changes, and you realize you don’t necessarily have the tools or the experience to be able to tackle that.”
Prince William continued: “A lot of the work we’ve done on mental health and listening to lots of people talk about it, is everyone likes a toolbox – particularly for men. A toolbox is quite a useful analogy to kind of use.”
While the brothers made a small truce during Queen Elizabeth‘s funeral, the relationship is on pause for now.
The Royal Family is worried about the upcoming tell-all memoir and does not trust Prince Harry.
Some fans of the Royal Family are applauding what Prince William is doing by being more open about his feelings.
However, a few others say that it will take time to get used to the new way Prince William is communicating and reaching a wider audience.
