After their brief and very public truce in London, there is a big possibility that Prince William will reunite with his brother, Prince Harry, and his sister-in-law, Meghan Markle, for the year-end holidays.
Prince William and Prince Harry have confirmed that they will be in New York more or less simultaneously.
In early December, Prince William and his spouse, Kate Middleton, will travel from England to Boston for the annual Earthshot Prize awards ceremony.
The Prince and Princess of Wales are also set to take a trip to New York to attend a charity gala and experience their first snowy Christmas in the Big Apple.
Prince Harry and Markle have confirmed that they will also be in New York for a prestigious event.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be honored by the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights (RFKHR) organization with the coveted Ripple of Hope Award alongside Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Bank of America CEO Brian Moynihan.
The spotlight will be on Prince Harry and Markle for “their work on racial justice, mental health, and other social impact initiatives through their Archewell Foundation.”
Middleton is hoping to use the happy coincidence to reunite the brothers because she believes this is what Princess Diana and the late Queen Elizabeth II “would’ve wanted.”
A source told Us Weekly: “Once Kate and William’s Boston plans are set in stone, she’s planning to extend an olive branch to Meghan in a bid to reunite the brothers and heal the rift. [Prince] Harry and Meghan are knee-deep with their hectic schedules, but Meghan is willing to put in the effort as long as dates don’t clash.”
If such a meeting between the princes would take place, it is not known if it will be held in a public setting, with the media capturing every moment, or in a private manner behind closed doors in a hotel room.
According to royal experts, if the reunion between Prince Harry and Prince William and their respective wives occurs, it will be like no other.
It has been revealed that Prince William is no longer naive about his relationship with Prince Harry.
Since the brutal reality of “Megxit” and subsequent interviews that followed, Prince William is unconvinced that his brother and his wife can be trusted with any secret and or private family moments.
Prince William is now clear-eyed and will not make the mistake of giving the husband and wife new ammunition to use against him or the Royal Family.
Prince William is said to be fearful that anything he or Middleton shares with Prince Harry and Markle will land in his upcoming book or the Netflix docuseries.
Katie Nicholl, who is currently promoting The New Royals, told The Daily Beast why Prince William was forced to take a new approach with his younger brother: “The reason why you didn’t see any real, meaningful reconciliation over the funeral is that William knows that, even if it’s delayed, there will be a book, there will be a Netflix series, and they will inevitably cause controversy and inevitably be damaging for the royal family. Harry has not just turned his back on the monarchy; he has thrown a stick of dynamite into the whole thing. William still can’t quite believe it has happened.”
The two brothers might never be able to let go of the family drama.
