The passing of Queen Elizabeth II forced the Royal Family and the monarchy to be on a complete halt for a period of mourning.
However, a month later, it is back to business for the royals, including Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
However, business is being conducted very much differently by Markle and Prince Harry in an effort to protect King Charles‘s dignity and privacy.
Prince Harry and Markle (while hesitant) have agreed that it is time to finally do what had been expected of them for a long time — they will be “interesting without crossing a line.”
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have decided to go on with their various projects, including the tell-all book, the Netflix docuseries, and the podcast.
Prince Harry and Markle will tackle topics that will sell their projects while being careful and fully conscious of the impact of their words on King Charles and the rest of the Royal Family.
A royal source revealed: “They’ve both agreed to reach a neutral ground by softening the parts on Charles and adding intimate details about [Queen Elizabeth II’s] legacy.”
Hence Prince Harry’s decision to revise his upcoming memoir, which had King Charles, Prince William, and especially Camilla, Queen Consort worried. They were said to be on edge due to potential humiliating revelations.
The source added: “He’s so grateful to Meghan for her input, and they make all of these big decisions together, so of course, there’s that balancing act of weighing up pros and cons to consider. And it goes the other way, too — he’s equally involved in her big picture; they’re very much at one that way and maintain they always will be.”
On Wednesday, Meghan Markle put the policy of being “interesting without crossing a line” in place with her Variety cover.
Markle did a lengthy interview, and there were no snubs, digs, or humiliating revelations. She was respectful towards Queen Elizabeth and the legacy that she left behind.
The former actress and activist said: “There’s been such an outpouring of love and support. I’m really grateful that I was able to be with my husband to support him, especially during that time. What’s so beautiful is to look at the legacy that his grandmother was able to leave on so many fronts. Certainly, in terms of female leadership, she is the most shining example of what that looks like. I feel deep gratitude to have been able to spend time with her and get to know her. It’s been a complicated time, but my husband, ever the optimist, said, ‘Now she’s reunited with her husband.”
Yet Markle dominated the headlines by talking about her love story with Prince Harry and her day-to-day life in Montecito with her family.
King Charles must be delighted to learn it will not be business as usual with the royal renegades.
