There are two sides to every story, and then there is the truth; Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have repeated on several occasions that they felt abandoned by the Royal Family.
The pair hinted that their relationship was never fully embraced by the Royal Family and the British people.
However, a royal expert trying better to understand the relationships between Prince Harry, Markle, and the British royals has made some unexpected discoveries.
According to Katie Nicholl‘s new book, The New Royals, the seniors inside Buckingham Palace went out of their way to ensure that Prince Harry and Markle received special treatment after their 2018 royal wedding.
It seems that so much effort was put into “including” The Duke and Duchess of Sussex in the royal institution that it left Prince William feeling frustrated and jealous.
The fresh revelations were discussed on The Mail‘s Palace Confidential by host Jo Elvin.
Elvin dug into the report that Prince William was less than thrilled when Queen Elizabeth II and King Charles III took the decision to give Prince Harry and Markle a cushy role that he was eying.
The Queen‘s Commonwealth Trust was created in 2018 in honor of the Queen‘s 92nd birthday.
The patronage was gifted to Prince Harry and his new wife. According to Express, Elvin shared: “There is an interesting insight on the potential jealousy on William’s part over roles for Meghan and Harry – what’s that all about?”
Mail on Sunday editor at large Charlotte Griffiths replied: “She gives a bit of an insight into how much fast-tracking went on to make Meghan and Harry feel special and including before the wedding. Including making them very senior in the Commonwealth trust. Katie reports that this was a plum role that William quite fancied for himself.”
She added that Prince William felt frustrated because he was left out and missed out on a plum role.
She claimed: “I can imagine the frustration William must have been feeling given that they felt so left out. All these special measures were being put in place to make them feel really included, and yet they’re so resentful that they weren’t made to feel welcome. As Katie reports, things were being fast-tracked left, right, and center, even things that William had his eye on.”
Griffiths responded by saying that Prince William had nothing to worry about because he would be King one day: “Then again, in the end, he’ll end up Head of the Commonwealth anyway.”
Despite the monarchy’s efforts, Prince Harry and his wife stepped down from their royal duties and moved to California.
In her latest book, Katie Nicholl hinted that Prince William was the most hurt by Prince Harry and Markle’s definitive exit because it created a heavy workload for him and his family.
Her book reads: “It was William who felt Harry’s departure most acutely because of the immediate repercussions on his own life. Friends of his say one of the reasons he won’t forgive Harry is due to the consequence of Megxit for Kate and their children. The Cambridges now have a significantly increased royal workload while trying to raise their young family.”
The Sussexes are now focused on building an entertainment empire.
