After Carter’s death, the Lizzie McGuire star put out a loving statement that touched on their tumultuous relationship.
The 35-year-old mother of two wrote: “For Aaron – I’m deeply sorry that life was so hard for you and that you had to struggle in front of the whole world. You had a charm that was absolutely effervescent… boy did my teenage self love you dearly. Sending love to your family at this time. Rest easy.”
Carter and Duff dated on and off for close to three years, from 2001 to 2003. Their story spilled a lot of ink in the media because the then-teenagers had big followings.
The relationship ended because of Carter’s alleged cheating with people like Lohan. Many people on social media are remembering this part of their childhood and how the so-called beef between the two actresses played in the media.

Carter, who came out as bisexual in 2017, welcomed his first child in November 2021 with model Melanie Martin.

The music star split from Martin again and accused her of being in touch with his estranged sister, Angel Carter.

Aaron Carter was found dead in the bathtub of his Lancaster home in California. He purchased the residence in 2019.
