Since Meghan Markle stepped down from her royal duties, she has been vocal in interviews and on her popular Spotify podcast Archetypes about her past life as a member of the Royal Family and as an opinionated woman of color.
In various conversations, Prince Harry‘s wife explained that she often felt like she did not fit in when she was in the room.
She then claimed that she walked on eggshells and made herself small not to be viewed as angry or bossy. Markle has also revealed that she struggled with royal duties because she was not prepared.
She hinted that she did not receive the proper guidance she needed to be at her best.
However, according to some royal experts, Markle had no problem using her voice to shut down senior royals, including King Charles III, Prince William, and Camilla, Queen Consort.
The Queen Consort and King Charles wanted to show their support and invited The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, plus their friend, Lucia Santa Cruz, to lunch at Highgrove.
Lucia recalls: “As a surprise, Camilla went out of her way to make sure the lunch consisted only of recipes from Meghan’s cookbook, and that included a very hot salsa. It was a really nice gesture.” One that made no impact.”
According to royal author Valentine Low, Prince William reached out to Markle with the best intentions to provide her with some people who could guide her as a new member of the Royal Family.
Markle slapped down her brother-in-law’s olive branch.
Low revealed: “They tried really hard to help Meghan right from the beginning. “One of them, called Miguel Head, who was William’s private secretary, had a meeting with Meghan. And in that meeting, he said, ‘listen, you’re coming to the Royal Family from a different place. You’re an actress, you’re a grown-up woman, we can do things differently. Let’s talk about how we do this. You might want to carry on acting, you might want to work somehow in the industry. Let’s have a dialogue.”
Prince William was not the only one who was snubbed by Prince Harry’s spouse.
Camilla, Queen Consort, who understood that it was not an easy task being part of the royals, extended invitations to Markle, who responded in an unenthused manner.
Author Angela Levin claimed: “They had lunches together, and Camilla spent a lot of time offering advice on how to handle the pressure. She tried to be supportive, was happy to be her mentor, and took her out for private lunches. A source at the time told me: “She doesn’t want to see anyone struggling, and she is fond of Meghan.” Meghan, however, seemed bored, was unresponsive, and preferred to go her own way, with the result that the Queen Consort’s advice landed on stony ground.”
Markle was unresponsive to a kind gesture made by King Charles and the Queen Consort.
Levin elaborated: “The Queen Consort and King Charles wanted to show their support and invited the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, plus their friend Lucia Santa Cruz, to lunch at Highgrove. Lucia recalls: “As a surprise, Camilla went out of her way to make sure the lunch consisted only of recipes from Meghan’s cookbook, and that included a very hot salsa. It was a really nice gesture.” One that made no impact.”
In her latest interviews, Markle seems to confirm that she was in a golden cage in the Palace walls and has been liberated to speak her mind and fight for causes near and dear to her heart.
