King Charles III is not wasting time when it comes to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. After The Duke and Duchess of Sussex released the blockbuster trailer for their Netflix docu-series Harry & Meghan.
The controversial documentary will debut on December 8. Since the timing of the teaser coincided with the visit of Prince William and Kate Middleton, many saw it as a declaration of war” with Royal Family. Some insiders say that the move is rude.
The new Monarch intends to react as such. That is the reason why he is reportedly ready to hold “crisis talks” with the future King and Queen of England as soon as they return home.
It is not really clear what kind of decisions the talks will lead to. However, it is said that all options are on the table. The King and his heir want to focus on the first three episodes of the reality series.
The goal is to see clearly where things are headed for the Sussexes and to assess any potential damage to the British monarchy. King Charles has one clear plan; for now, he wants to have a united front with other members of the Royal Family.
This would ensure a more coherent response to the different challenges that will be put forward by the Sussexes.
A royal insider told the Daily Mirror: “There is a completely united front from the King and his family concerning the numerous attempts to privately make peace with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, which sadly have once again resulted in the other side wishing to air their repeated grievances to the world. If there is a need to respond to anything in the upcoming series, then you can be assured that response will be swift and robust.”
While the King is being pushed by many supporters to take some extraordinary measures, he remains calm as he charts the path forward. He even hopes that Sussexes can move on after all of this drama.
Another source, the Daily Express: “The King is a father who loves his son and like any parent is frustrated and worried that his two children have such a difficult relationship. He is determined not to cut Harry off and believes there may still be a way back for the Sussexes.”
A Palace insider added: “It is a very distressing time all around. We certainly hope grievances can be resolved and who knows where that might leave us?”
King Charles is right to be hopeful for now. The Sussexes have signaled that they would reach out after the Spare tell-all memoir is released next month.
