After sweet talking his way into a short-lived friendship with the late Queen Elizabeth II, the famous Hollywood actor has befriended Prince William and Kate Middleton.
In the past few months, Tom Cruise used his mega movie premieres, charm, chivalry, and fame to mingle with all members of the British royal family.
And for this Christmas, the famous Scientologist has cemented his friendship with Catherine, Princess of Wales, and Prince William by adding them to his list of special friends gifted his renowned coconut cake.
Cruise ordered the £38 (~$45) White Chocolate Coconut Bundt Cake from the iconic Doan’s Bakery in Woodland Hills.
For the year-end holidays, the action star sends about 300 chocolate coconut cakes from Los Angeles via private jets to those who are important to him, including family, friends, and former co-stars.
For the first time, William, Prince of Wales, and his wife were the recipient of the sweet delight from Tom Cruise.
The delicious pastry was accompanied by a special message from Cruise that was delivered to the royal couple via couriers.
A source told The Sun that the special delivery shows that Prince William and Kate Middleton’s star power is shining brighter than ever.
Last year, a source close to Cruise explained how he spent a fortune on cakes as gifts for Mission: Impossible 7 crew members.
An insider said: “This is pretty much the Who’s Who of who matters in global entertainment and showbiz. Adding the royals to the list just shows how their star power travels. He spent £11,400 on the cakes alone, before the cost of the private jet. Tom wanted to give the team on Mission: Impossible a treat for Christmas and decided that only cakes from his favorite bakery in LA would do.”
The source added that the actor is generous and loves to give.
The person stated: “He organized for the shop to make 300 cakes especially, and they were then flown back to the UK on his jet. It is extravagant, but Tom is an incredibly generous person, and he wanted to do something special for everyone who has worked on the movie with him.”
With Prince Harry and Meghan Markle decimating the relationships that they had with Prince William and Kate Middleton, it seems that they are open to having new faces like Tom Cruise in their inner circle or at least at their dinner table.
After the airing of Netflix’s Harry & Meghan, a close friend of Prince William told The Daily Beast that Prince Harry has betrayed his brother and added: “The relationship between the brothers is over, and it doesn’t make a great deal of difference what is in the films released this week. The general feeling that it won’t be anything they haven’t said before.”
