Is the third time the charm for icon Cher? This week, the singer and songwriter had her fans going into a frenzy after posting a picture on Twitter that confirmed that she was engaged to her boyfriend, Alexander “A.E.” Edwards.
On Christmas Day, Cher dropped a photo of a person’s hand holding a massive pear-shaped diamond ring. She picked the following caption to create even more confusion: “THERE R NO WORDS.ALEXANDER, A.E.”
The pop star was bombarded with questions about the picture that hinted that she was getting ready to walk down the aisle.
Cher has been married twice — Sonny Bono from 1964 to 1975 and Gregg Allman from 1975 to 1979.

And she returned to Twitter to say that she took the photo because she loved her boyfriend’s nail polish color.
She told a fan that she found the neon green flame nails cool but declined to comment on the engagement chatter that had already gone viral.
For several days both Cher and Alexander “A.E.” Edwards refused to talk about the stunning photo.
However, on Thursday, Cher revealed the truth about her relationship with Edwards via her rep. Cher’s rep spoke to E! News and explained that she is not engaged.
The spokesperson confirmed that the massive ring was a Christmas gift and added: “They are not engaged, and the sparkler is Just a beautiful gift.”
The “Believe” singer and the music executive confirmed that they were dating in September after they were photographed on a romantic outing in Los Angeles.
The 76-year-old singer later took to social media to profess her love for Edwards, 36.
She said the rapper was her “new man” and added: “He’s 36 & In End, He Came after me, Till we met in the middle. He’s Consistent one, and I’m The Skittish one. We love each other…. LADIES, NEVER GIVE UP.”
Cher gushed about the May-December romance on The Kelly Clarkson Show earlier this month.
She confessed: “On paper, it’s ridiculous, but in real life, we get along great. He’s fabulous, and I don’t give men qualities that they don’t deserve. But he’s very kind, and he’s very smart. He’s very talented, and he’s really funny, so I think he’s quite handsome.”
Cher went on to reveal why she prefers younger men by saying: “If I hadn’t met younger men in my life, I would’ve never had a date. Older men just didn’t like me all that much. … Younger men don’t care if you’re, you know, funny or outrageous and want to do stupid things and you have a strong personality. I’m not giving up my personality for anybody.”
