Despite Penguin Random House’s best efforts, Prince Harry‘s highly anticipated book, Spare, has leaked, and it has one primary goal: destroy Prince William and Kate Middleton‘s stellar reputation.
Prince Harry had no scruples or second thoughts when sharing the dirtiest secrets about his brother and sister-in-law.
In a passage that surfaced, Prince Harry revealed that in 2019 he had a nasty fallout with the heir to the throne.
Things got so heated that Prince William knocked him to the floor, and he suffered multiple injuries on his back.
Per The Guardian, Prince Harry claimed that after the brawl, Prince William forbade him from telling Meghan Markle that he was attacked.
Prince Harry obeyed and called his therapist instead. However, eventually, Markle saw the injuries on Prince Harry’s back and questioned him.
The Duke of Sussex revealed his wife’s reaction in the tell-all memoir by saying that she was not surprised that Prince William was verbally and physically abusing him. She was not angry but saddened by it all.
The Duke of Sussex wrote: “Meghan would see the cuts, scrapes, and bruises on my back from the dog bowl. She wasn’t that surprised and wasn’t all that angry. She was terribly sad.”
The excerpt obtained by the outlet revealed that the nasty brawl took place in Nottingham Cottage in the midst of a heated exchange where Prince William insulted Meghan Markle by calling her “difficult,” “rude,” and “abrasive.”
Prince Harry went on to say that Prince William was “parrot[ing] of the press narrative” in the UK about Markle.
During the brawl, Prince William told his younger brother he was unable to understand why he was not happy with being “the spare” and accused him of acting like an heir.
Prince William also told Prince Harry that he was trying to help him. Prince Harry responded by: “Are you serious? Help me? Sorry – is that what you call this? Helping me?”
Describing the attack, Prince Harry wrote: “It all happened so fast. So very fast. He grabbed me by the collar, ripped my necklace, and he knocked me to the floor. I landed on the dog’s bowl, which cracked under my back, the pieces cutting into me. I lay there for a moment, dazed, then got to my feet and told him to get out.”
Then, Prince William told Prince Harry to hit him back, and he refused. Prince William left the kitchen before returning “looking regretful” and apologizing.
