Prince Harry is entering crunch time when it comes to the promotion of his tell-all memoir Spare. The damage that was done to his relationship with the Royal Family is already evident.
While the so-called “nuclear option” has not yet been activated, King Charles III is signaling that The Duke of Sussex has crossed an important line.
With this book, Meghan Markle‘s husband has proven that nothing can get in the way of him sharing his truth with the world. After decades of suffering in silence, Prince Harry is letting it all out.
He revealed that his brother, Prince William, attacked him and that he had some issues with Kate Middleton.
King Charles has left a small window open for reconciliation, but Prince Harry is not in a hurry to jump on the opportunity. The King is hoping that he will attend the Coronation on May 6.
The renegade royal has said that he will only attend if there is a heartfelt apology from his family before.
The invitation seems like a nice gesture on the surface, but the Royal Family could use the moment to exact revenge by humiliating Prince Harry in front of a vast audience.
The scene might look like what occurred at the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II in September. Prince Harry’s presence and role were insignificant.
Prince Harry going to the Coronation would be just for public consumption because the father of two would not have any real part in it.
The Sunday Times‘s royal editor wrote on Twitter: “Prince Harry has been written out of the script for the Coronation, with no official role in the service if he attends. Breaking with tradition, Charles will scrap royal dukes kneeling and paying homage to the monarch. Only William will perform that role. As things stand, there is no role for Harry in the service.”
Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams told the Daily Express that the “nuclear option” is being considered.
He stated: “Harry and Meghan are royals who have gone rogue. There is no way the Palace can go point by point through the allegations. Removing their dukedom, if that option is considered, is a matter for Parliament. Reviving the accusations of bullying against Meghan, which she has strongly denied, would be a nuclear option.”
Prince Harry has a lengthy pre-buttal of the bullying accusations in his book. Some observers say that if King Charles’s “nuclear option” is to revive the bullying charge against Markle, he does not have a strong hand to take on Prince Harry.
The Royal Family is opting for a dignified silence because it is almost impossible to go against so many salacious revelations in an effective way.
King Charles knows that his son is winning this battle, but to win the war, the Sussexes have to be able to build a great entertainment empire.
A bestselling book and a hit documentary are a good start. The Royal Family is hoping that a strategic retreat will go the distance and help win the war.
