Prince Harry has done a masterful hit job with his book Spare, and Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton, were the main targets.
Along with selling record numbers across the globe, Prince Harry has been able to accomplish the unthinkable — he made the British people turn on the most beloved members of the Royal Family, William, Prince of Wales, and Catherine, Princess of Wales.
The future King has lost some favor and power because of the disturbing pages of Spare.
The Duke of Sussex went as far as his memories would allow him in the book and let out all the hurt, pain, and resentment.
The British military officer opened up about his complex relationship with his father, King Charles III.
Prince Harry destroyed his older brother by revealing more than a dozen humiliating events in their childhood and adulthood.
The renegade royal spoke about an extraordinary scene where Prince William physically attacked him while brawling over comments about Meghan Markle.
In the autobiography, he painted Middleton as a villain who was out to stain Meghan Markle out of sheer jealousy.
Prince Harry indirectly hinted that Prince William and Kate Middleton were not protecting their three children — Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis — from the horrific heir/spare dynamics.
The tactic worked brilliantly, according to the latest poll numbers.
Britons have started to fall out of love with the heir and their future Queen after the many demeaning revelations and accusations in Spare and the Sussexes’ Netflix’s Harry & Meghan docuseries.
Prince of Wales‘s popularity has taken a significant dip since the publication of Prince Harry’s tell-all book.
Kate Middleton’s numbers are also suffering because of her brother and sister-in-law.
According to the data revealed by Ipsos Mori on January 10, Prince William’s ratings fell by eight percentage points, and Kate Middleton’s popularity dropped by five points.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s numbers have also dropped amid the ongoing drama. That has now plunged to -7, with pollsters Redfield & Wilton speaking to the same number of voters on January 16.
His approval rating lost thirteen points. His wife has also seen her reputation harmed by the drama. Meghan Markle saw a five-point dip even though she has been away from the media’s spotlight during the Spare debacle.
Kelly Beaver, chief executive of Ipsos in the UK and Ireland, said: “Both Prince Harry and his brother Prince William seem to have suffered in British public opinion following the release of the Duke of Sussex’s memoir and the claims within it – and there is some evidence other members of the Royal Family are feeling the fall-out too. This data also re-emphasizes the need for the Monarchy to show it can speak to and be relevant for younger generations.”
Many royal observers believed that Prince William, King Charles, and other royals made the wrong decision not to respond to Prince Harry’s attacks.
The family now looks weak, and many of their royal backers are doubting that they are good people who are dedicated to a life of service.
Some experts believe that Prince William will not have the choice but to forcefully defend his name, his wife, and the monarchy.
