The success of Prince Harry‘s tell-all book Spare came as a surprise for many in royal circles. The Duke of Sussex held nothing back and invited the reader into his world to share his pain.
The father of two dug deep into his relationship with his brother and heir to the throne, Prince William. Meghan Markle‘s husband had all kinds of nasty names for his stepmother, Camilla, Queen Consort.
While Prince Harry was milder than expected when it comes to King Charles III, he did not spare his sister-in-law, Kate Middleton.
In the bestselling memoir, Catherine, Prince of Wales, is presented as a devious character who did very little to clear Markle’s name when it was necessary.
The characterization left some royal commentators baffled, and the Prince of Wales is furious that his wife is being portrayed this way.
The relationship between the two siblings will never be the same moving forward. Spare has managed to top the damage that was done with the Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan.
King Charles stays as far away as possible from the noise as he urges other royals not to respond. Leaving the entire scene to Harry was a risky bet, but it worked.
Harry and Markle saw their popularity fall apart after the book was published. However, the most surprising development came from a place no one expected.
As US Daily Report previously reported, Markle is not entirely behind what her husband did.
She finds that he has gone too far in some areas, and the former actress believes that some of the charges against the royals could have been handled more gracefully.
Markle has removed herself from the spotlight and left the stage for Harry to do his thing. This is a surprising twist because until very recently, the power couple always worked as a duo.
Markle’s decision has some wondering if there is trouble in paradise and if the book is responsible for the alleged tension.
Royal commentator Nile Gardiner said that Markle underestimated the backlash from the book, so she is retreating.
Gardiner stated: “After all, she has treated Harry like a useful idiot for many years, and now Harry is undermining the Meghan brand, and obviously, she is not happy about that.”
The former aide of Margaret Thatcher also told Dan Wootton on GB News: “I think the British public have turned Harry really into a pariah, as a result of this very nasty book.”
He continued: “Also, in the United States as well, the popularity of Harry and Meghan has fallen significantly. I do think Harry and Meghan definitely underestimated the level of backlash there was going to be.”
Gardiner concluded: “I think we are seeing divisions in camp Harry and Meghan because this book has been absolutely disastrous. I think there will be fallout from this.”
Time will tell if the impact will be long-lasting, but Prince Harry might have to pull back from the feud with the Royal Family for his wife.
By being too eager to share salacious details, Harry has turned Markle into a reluctant ally of King Charles and the monarchy.
Markle wants to see the end of the media circus so the polished brand that she is trying to build can recover and prosper.
