Prince Harry has done and said a lot over the past few months, and while his father, King Charles III, is willing to try to repair the relationship, not the same can be said for his brother, Prince William.
At the moment, the Sovereign and the heir to the throne do not see eye to eye when it comes to the massive damage done by Meghan Markle and her husband, Prince Harry.
And things will get murkier with King Charles’s decision to cave in and allow a third party to better navigate and understand the situation so Prince Harry, his wife, Markle, and their young children, Archie and Lilibet Diana, can attend the coronation ceremony.
It has been revealed by the Mail on Sunday that His Majesty has reached out to Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury, and asked him to broker “a deal” between warring brothers Prince Harry and Prince William.
The report from Lambeth Palace (London home of the Archbishop of Canterbury) confirms that King Charles is more than willing to have the Duke of Sussex and his family at the state event, but Prince William has objected.
In order for the deal to go through, Prince Harry has made the demand that King Charles not touch his and Markle’s titles.
The royal source revealed to the media outlet: “The family is split, and all the indications are that Harry is being advised to agree to nothing at this stage and ‘play it long’ right up to the last minute, which is making negotiations with him very difficult. Harry’s camp made clear that the idea that he would just attend the coronation and behave himself but then be stripped of his titles was a total non-starter.”
The insider went on to reveal: “While he might decide at some point to discard the titles of his own volition, he objects to the idea of being forcibly stripped of them. He resents being lumped together with Andrew in the public mind as the two ‘problem princes’ when he considers the circumstances to be totally different.”
King Charles is creating a civil war with Prince William, who made it clear in a very public manner that he disagreed with this move.
According to the media outlet, Lambeth Palace, Buckingham Palace, and Prince Harry’s representatives have refused to comment on the potential deal.
However, Prince William made his frustration known and potentially humiliated the King. Sources from Prince William’s office said: “they were not aware of any such negotiations over the coronation.”
While promoting Spare, Prince Harry declined to commit to attending the coronation ceremony.
Instead, he demanded that his father, brother, Kate Middleton, and Camilla, Queen Consort, apologize for the pain they caused Meghan Markle.
