After Sunday night’s Grammy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles, much ink was spilled about Jennifer Lopez‘s gestures and words toward her husband, Ben Affleck.
Lopez and the Oscar winner arrived at the splashy event dressed elegantly and happily posed on the red carpet for dozens of photos.
Ben Affleck was seen hugging and kissing his wife before the start of the event.
The show lasted over three and a half hours, and it may have been too much for Affleck, who is more into movies and political debates.
As the long night progressed, Affleck’s demeanor changed — he appeared miserable, bored, and out of place as if he preferred to be home.
At some point, Lopez was caught having a tense conversation with her spouse.
According to a professional lip reader, Lopez went into full mom mode and snapped at Affleck and said: “Stop. Look more friendly. Look motivated.” Ben Affleck then allegedly replied: “I might.”
The singer and actress decided to fight back by taking to Instagram, where she posted a carousel of photos taken at the award show with Affleck.
She used the caption to say that all is well in her marriage. Lopez explained: “Always the best time with my love, my husband 🤍.”
A source close to Lopez spoke to ET after her video with Affleck went viral to say that she appreciates her husband’s efforts to show her support at the Grammys.
The family friend revealed: “Jen and Ben had a fun date night out at the Grammys, but they have both have been very busy working on several projects, and Ben was feeling tired. He wanted to go and support Jen, but he wasn’t his usual self. Jen had a great time and wanted Ben to be excited to be there, but she understood where he was coming from. Jen knows Ben is a great husband, and they still made sure to have a good night together.”
In addition, the source stated that Lopez is aware that Affleck is more comfortable at home and is, therefore, grateful for his decision to accompany her to the soirée.
The pal stated: “She knows how supportive Ben is towards her and her work, but also gets that Ben is more of a homebody, and it isn’t his thing to be out at events all the time. She is appreciative of his support whether it’s while they’re out and about or just hanging at home.”
