Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, shared embarrassing details about King Charles III, revealed his brutal fights with Prince William, and painted Camilla, Queen Consort, as a dangerous woman who caused pain to everyone around her.
The royals have opted not to respond despite all that Prince Harry revealed.
The British clan had appeared to be true to Queen Elizabeth II‘s unwritten protocol or rule of never responding to rumors and revelations, no matter how salacious they might be.
However, this week King Charles was cornered by a royal backer, and he took the surprising decision to break the rules and answered an awkward question about Prince Harry.
On Thursday, His Majesty visited the University of London, where he met with staff members and students.
King Charles also took part in a walkabout and was greeted by well-wishers. During the stroll, a public member yelled and made an unexpected request.
The person asked that Prince Harry return to London and be with the Royal Family. The supporter screamed: “Bring back Harry, please. Can you please bring him back, please?”
Startled by the question, King Charles laughed and said, “who?” At some point, King Charles understood the question, and he laughed some more and eventually responded with a big smile: “That would be nice.”
In a new interview with PEOPLE Magazine, royal expert Valentine Low explained why King Charles and Prince William have refused to speak about Prince Harry’s accusations.
The royal author stated: “They didn’t want to fan the flames of the rift and the dispute. They know that anything said in a statement or a briefing would prolong it. The longer it goes on, the less hope there is for reconciliation.”
King Charles’s lighthearted answer and giggles about Prince Harry seem to confirm the reports that he is ready to move on beyond the drama and reconcile with his son.
However, Prince William is not on the same page. The heir is said to be more than angry with his brother and Meghan Markle and has no plans to speak to them in the future.
The royal expert stated: “William is the one who is most upset and needs time to calm down. He has been painted as hotheaded and unsympathetic. But I don’t think he will back down — it’s whether they can move beyond it and accept that they view things differently. William will be furious about the betrayals of confidences.”
Prince William has already banned his brother and sister-in-law from his own coronation ceremony even though it takes place in 30 years.
