There is a consensus that Prince William has been pushed to the edge of hatred when it comes to his younger brother, and it is unknown if he can ever come down.
Reliable Palace insiders told the press that Prince William could not do like King Charles III and look the other way — not even for a few hours during coronation day.
Prince William cannot stand to be in the same country as Prince Harry, so he hopes his sibling will take a hint and stay in California on May 6 with his wife, Meghan Markle, and their young children, Archie and Lilibet Diana.
A source, an old friend of both Prince William and Prince Harry’s, who is no longer in contact with the Duke of Sussex, told the Daily Beast the following: “William won’t shed a tear if Harry doesn’t make it. He feels utterly betrayed by Harry. Relations have never been this bad, and he hates him for what he has done to the family in the books and interviews. He will support whatever decision his dad makes, but it’s no secret he would prefer it if he wasn’t there or, indeed, never stepped foot in England again.”
The sentiments that Prince William now fosters for Prince Harry have some royal observers pointing to his relationship with his stepmother Camilla, Queen Consort.
Prince William did not have much love or admiration for Camilla Parker Bowles, who was seen as the “other woman” who helped shatter King Charles’s complicated marriage to his mother, Princess Diana.
In Spare, Prince Harry explained that his brother “long harbored suspicions about the Other Woman.[It] confused him, tormented him, and when those suspicions were confirmed, he felt tremendous guilt for having done nothing, said nothing, sooner.”
It has also been revealed that Prince William, like Prince Harry, never wanted their father to marry Camilla, Queen Consort, because they resented her for the affair.
Prince Harry also dropped the bombshell that Camilla, Queen Consort, was instrumental in leaking embarrassing stories about Prince William.
And some reports suggested that King Charles’s wife did not fully embrace Kate Middleton when she first entered the Royal Family.
The heir, as a teenager, grew up having a lot of negative feelings toward Queen Camilla, but now as an adult, he has a mature and civil rapport with her.
A royal insider recently revealed where Prince William and Camilla, Queen Consort’s relationship stands today by saying: “Wills accepted that Camilla is who his father chose and who he’s always been in love with. But he always held her at arm’s length, and she never tried to push him on that. William’s at least been warmer than [Prince] Harry, who glowered at her in silence unless he was pushed into conversation.”
Prince William is at a crossroads with Prince Harry, and there is a possibility that their once-enemy-turned-stepmother might be the one who holds the road map to them ever making amends.
