The deadline for Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, to RSVP for the coronation has come and gone, and the world has no clue whether they will attend.
As the media and the Royal Family patiently wait for an answer from Montecito, King Charles III is moving forward with his plans for the biggest scaled-back event of the century.
His Majesty has selected the very few who will have important roles at the coronation, and he has ruled Prince Harry unworthy to be part of the royal traditions.
The Monarch‘s sons, Prince Harry and Prince William, were set to participate in joint official roles in the ceremony.
A newly published piece in The Telegraph revealed that King Charles has made the sad and brutal decision to eliminate Prince Harry’s role even if he makes an appearance at the crowning.
According to the publication, Prince William will be the only one “kneeling and paying homage” to the Monarch.
Despite having his role axed and the risk of being snubbed and humiliated, Prince Harry has been warned that he has no choice but to be present at the coronation.
According to a royal expert, skipping the historical celebration, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may cause a “fatal” rift with the Firm.
Edward Coram-James told GB News that the duo would launch a PR war with the Royal Family and added: “In a universe in which the damage already caused by the rift is still recoverable from, at least in part, a no-show would be the fatal, irreversible blow, both in the public perception as well, potentially, as within the family itself.”
The royal and public relations expert added: “It risks drawing out the conflict over the long term. Coram-James added that if the Sussexes decide to skip the festivities, it will draw as much, if not more, media attention. It would give further oxygen to the rift and allegations that the Sussexes have leveled at the royal family.”
If Prince Harry and Markle skip the event, the focus will be on their absence, further ruining King Charles’s big and glorious day.
The commentator shared: “And the shadow of their absence would loom large over the entire ceremony, risking becoming the elephant in the room and an unwanted sideshow.”
Some royal observers believe Prince Harry will attend the coronation alone, while Markle remains in California to celebrate Archie‘s birthday.
