While not intentional, King Charles III has created a little more drama in the Royal Family with his latest move.
After it was confirmed that Prince Harry would attend the coronation ceremony alone, King Charles attempted to make a gesture of good faith towards Meghan Markle.
However, the disastrous move by King Charles is viewed as taking a swipe at Kate Middleton.
His Majesty, via Buckingham Palace, released the official Coronation program that contained a lovely family portrait that was taken during happier times.
The image features King Charles and his wife, Camilla, Queen Consort, sitting on a bench. Prince Harry, Prince William, and their wives stood behind the King and Queen.
Prince William’s three young children are also featured in the photograph. Some believe King Charles was trying to show the once-family unity among the royals.
However, according to a body language expert, King Charles has put the spotlight on Markle and made her the star of the show.
The official photograph created a messy debacle and “downgraded” Kate Middleton, according to the expert.
Speaking to The Mirror, royal expert Judi James said that King Charles has put in some effort in choosing a photo to “airbrush” the bitter and ongoing feud between London and Monetcito.
Talking about Kate Mittleon’s posture and facial expression — James claimed that she looked like she had lost her current status in the institution and added: “Kate has received a body language downgrade here. Standing to the side of the pose and looking outward, she appears stripped of her current status as the stand-out star of the Firm.”
Judi James’s revealed that Markle’s playfulness, joy, and laughter in the picture make her the real star.
She went on to say: “It’s Meghan who catches the eye here, bending forward and laughing in delight as she shares the happy moment with Camilla and Charlotte in a very active and relaxed-looking way. Her pose here suggests warmth and a desire to get involved as part of the family.”
Judi added: “The choice of a pose that depicts the royals as one fond, loving, and closely-bonded family group is so distant from current reality that it suggests that Charles is either a fan of historical airbrushing and photo-shopping, sweeping all the splits, rifts and bitterness under the carpet or that he is keen to show the Sussex’s are welcome back into the fold, with an added hint that maybe life wasn’t so bad for them here after all.”
Friends and royal sources say that Prince William and Middleton are delighted that Markle will not be at the coronation to steal the limelight.
