So much for Queen Elizabeth II‘s famous motto of “never complaining and explaining” — Prince William is angry at his brother, Prince Harry, and wasted no time reaching out to the media and sharing his side of the humiliating story.
This week, while in court, Prince Harry dropped another bombshell on the Royal Family — specifically on Prince William.
The California royal revealed to the world the heir to the throne received a substantial sum of money from Rupert Murdoch‘s British newspaper group in 2020 as part of a secret settlement.
Prince William settled privately after News Group Newspapers journalists hacked his cellphone. The somewhat embarrassing claim was made public by the Duke of Sussex‘s lawyer in the High Court of Justice in London.
The prince is suing The Sun and now-defunct News Of The World because they allegedly unlawfully gathered information about his private life.
Prince Harry’s attorney, David Sherborne, wrote: “It is important to bear in mind that in responding to this bid by NGN to prevent his claims going to trial, (Harry) has had to make public the details of this secret agreement, as well as the fact that his brother, His Royal Highness Prince William, has recently settled his claim against NGN behind the scenes. This is used very much by (Harry) as “a shield, not a sword” against NGN’s attack.”
Prince Harry did not disclose the amount paid to his brother, but several media outlets report it is around £1 million (over $1.2 million).
A spokesman for Prince William has refused to confirm or deny the claims. However, a close friend of Prince William spoke to The Daily Beast to say he is angry.
Prince William is said to be incandescent with rage over the fact that Prince Harry has decided to reveal his most mortifying secrets to the world without his permission.
According to the person in the know, Prince William is enraged and believes that his brother is making these moves in an effort to end the relationship for good.
The source shared: “Just when you think it can’t get any worse, it does. This is scorched earth stuff from Harry. By revealing these secrets, he is burning everything to the ground. He is making it very clear that he considers his relationship with William is over.”
While talking to The Daily Beast, Prince William’s associate may have inadvertently confirmed that Prince Harry is telling the truth about the settlement.
The friend stated that Prince William is shocked to see that Prince Harry has chosen this path where he will reveal all and any confidential information to score a win.
The pal stated: “William will never trust Harry again. How could he? The truth is William absolutely hates Harry now and will never forgive him for the damage he has done to the family. The brothers were so close when they were younger that it is just incredible to those of us who knew them back then that they have reached a stage where Harry is revealing his brother’s confidential legal settlements.”
Prince Harry is not done going after the Royal Family.
