Anne, Princess Royal Deals Major Blow To Kate Middleton With This Comment

Prince William Kate Middleton Rose Hanbury Rumors

Princess Anne, who is set to visit Canada later this month, sat down with CBC News’s Adrienne Arsenault, where she spoke about the monarchy’s past, present, and future.

Anne, Princess Royal, is known to have her father’s attitude and way of doing things. Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, was a tough-talking, no-BS royal who often got in trouble for his blunt comments.

During the chatter, Princess Anne appeared to swipe at Kate Middleton, who is having a debacle over her coronation attire and tiara.

In the sit-down, King Charles III‘s sister spoke about the prestigious role that she had been offered at the crowning ceremony.

For her many years of loyalty and dedication to King Charles and the monarchy, the Princess Royal will take on the role of Gold-Stick-in-Waiting in the procession.

The Mirror explained that the “position was historically handed to a person entrusted with the personal safety of the Sovereign.”

Princess Anne, decked out in military uniform, will travel on horseback behind King Charles and Camilla, Queen Consort, to and from Westminster Abbey.

Princess Anne will be followed by 6,000 armed services personnel from the church to Buckingham Palace. Talking about the honor that has been given to her, Princess Anne stated that at least she does not have to worry about her dress and tiara like other female attendees of the crowning.

She said: “I have a role as the colonel of the Blues and Royals in the Household Cavalry regiment as the Gold Stick [in Waiting], and Gold Stick was the original clothed protection officer. That is a role I was asked if I would like to do for this coronation, so I said yes; not least of all, it solves my dress problem.”

Some royal observers see this statement as a blow to Kate Middleton, who is in a tricky situation when it comes to the crowning ceremony.

Prince William‘s wife has to dress the part but cannot upstage King Charles and Queen Camilla.

Middleton will not be allowed to wear a tiara because King Charles wants to have the illusion that he is having a low-key affair despite the fact that it will cost over $400 million and he will carry priceless diamonds and gold objects.

Catherine, Princess of Wales, will likely attend the coronation wearing an elaborate headpiece or a flower crown.

A report in The Times revealed the following about King Charles’s tiara ban: “A coronation would normally be an occasion for female members of the royal family to wear their most dazzling jewelry. However, the Princess of Wales plans to go against expectations at Westminster Abbey on Saturday by not wearing a tiara for the most spectacular royal occasion in 70 years. Instead, it is thought that she is planning to wear a floral headpiece.”

It went on to share: “The decision to go for the floral look would be fully in keeping with a coronation that reflects King Charles’s belief in the importance of sustainability and his love of nature. That has already been seen in the invitations. The floral displays in the abbey will be sustainable, using flowers from Britain rather than anything flown in from overseas.”

The media outlet then claimed: “It is not known exactly what form the Princess of Wales’s floral headwear will take, although a crown of flowers has been one suggestion…it could introduce an unexpectedly hippyish note into a service that is the height of a formal royal ceremony.”
Hugo Vickers, the author of many royal biographies, said this about the flower crown: “Considering that a coronation is the most important state occasion in a reign, it would be disappointing to do less than at a state banquet, but I guess they want the entire focus on the King and Queen.”

Middleton is not getting her way.
