Megyn Kelly once had a connection with Charlize Theron, but it now appears that the two women are worlds apart.
Over the weekend, the former Fox News darling threatened to fight the Oscar winner over her comments about drag performers.
On Sunday, Charlize Theron appeared at the “Drag Isn’t Dangerous” telethon, where she made a jaw-dropping statement while supporting drag performers.
Theron boldly declared: “I will f— anybody up who’s like trying to f— with anything with you guys.”
The South African star made the remarks as she was trying to push back against the Republican laws recently passed to stop drag queen performers from having their shows attended by children.
Conservative voices say these drag queen events are inappropriate for children. Theron argued that countless things (including horrific school shootings) are more harmful to children than drag queens.
The filmmaker added: “There’s so many things that are really hurting and killing our kids … and it ain’t no drag queen. Because if you’ve ever seen a drag queen lip-sync for her life, it only makes you happier, it only makes you love more, it makes you a better person.”
The media sensation sharply responded to Charlize Theron on the podcast, The Megyn Kelly Show by saying: “Why doesn’t Charlize Theron come and f*** me up? Because I’m 100% against her on this. Yes, there’s fun drag queen shows. I’ve been to them. When I lived in Chicago, we went to one that was super fun. It was all adults. But there are drag queen shows out there right now that are deeply disturbing, and they’re happening in front of young children.”
The former Fox News and NBC News host went on to bash Theron and mentioned her 10-year-old child, Jackson, who is a trans girl.
Megyn Kelly shared: “She needs to know what you’re supporting, understand what we’re actually seeing out there, which can absolutely include the grooming of young children. Even she should be against that, trans kid or not.”
Kelly concluded by: “I feel like I have some weird connection with this person because she played me in a movie.”
Charlize Theron played Megyn Kelly in the 2019 film Bombshell. The film focused on real accounts that Megyn Kelly and several female reporters gave to expose and end the career of Roger Ailes.
The late chairman of Fox News was accused of sexual harassment. Kelly and Theron have never met or spoken to each other.
The actress took that decision because “she thought it would put too much pressure on both of them.”
Well, such meeting is less likely now.
