King Charles To Reunite With Archie And Lilibet For Controversial Event This Summer

Meghan Markle Prince Harry Queen Elizabeth Investigation

When Meghan Markle announced that she would not be attending King Charles III‘s coronation, reports claimed that many Royal Family members were relieved.

Markle stayed in California with her young children — Archie and Lilibet — while Prince Harry traveled to London to witness the biggest day in his father’s life.

Friends of Markle told PEOPLE and Page Six that she opted to remain in Montecito because she would not miss Archie’s birthday.

However, a source close to King Charles revealed at the time that he was saddened that Markle could not attend the event. It was claimed that King Charles was heartbroken that his biracial grandchildren could not be present for the special day.

A source said in May: “Charles was sad his daughter-in-law wouldn’t be there. Charles is sad that Meghan will not be in attendance. Charles was hoping the coronation would be a chance to better connect and maintain healing between them, but is thrilled [Prince] Harry will be in attendance.”

King Charles is giving Markle and her family the opportunity for a redo. According to The Sun, King Charles and Queen Camilla, who were crowned less than a month ago at Westminster Abbey, are marching on with a second ceremony.

Queen Camilla and His Majesty will have another historic ceremony later this summer.

According to royal experts, the King and Queen will take part in a “second coronation” or a service of dedication and thanksgiving in Edinburgh, where they will be presented with Honors of Scotland.

Express predicted the ceremony would be held on July 5 for the following reason: “The date for the official service of dedication and thanksgiving hasn’t been confirmed – but with the garden party on the 4th, it is expected to take place on July 5. The Crown Room at Edinburgh Castle will be closed between July 4 and 6, with the entire castle closed on July 5.”

The second coronation has many royal watchers wondering whether King Charles will extend invitations to Markle, Prince Harry, and their two children.

If His Majesty does reach out to or summon the Montecito royals for the historical event, it will be hard for Markle to turn him down a second time.

This is why royal observers say that the entire family will make an effort to be there this time around. Prince Harry and Markle will be attending a controversial coronation.

Express noted: “The idea of a second Coronation is likely to spark even more controversy – as did the first one on May 6 – in light of the ongoing living crisis.”

Angela David, a British mother-of-five, slammed the King’s second coronation by telling CNN that the Royal Family “haven’t really read the room, as it were.”

She added: “A lot of it should have come from their own pocket rather than the taxpayer. And I think it should have been toned down a little bit.”

Some are wondering if the couple will adress the matter anytime soon.
