Jennifer Garner, Ben Affleck, and Jennifer Lopez have decided it is in everyone’s interest to make their blended family work.
The trio had a mature conversation in the past months where Affleck and his ex-wife said it was time to put the drama of their failed marriage behind them.
In 2015, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner announced they were divorcing after ten years of marriage. The former couple shares three children — Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel.
After dating several high-profile women, the Oscar winner reconnected with his former fiancée, Jennifer Lopez. The pair, who ended their romance in 2004, reunited in 2021 and married in 2022.
Lopez shares twins daughter Emme Muñiz and son Max Muñiz with ex-husband Marc Anthony.
After their marriage, Lopez and Affleck moved into a 60 million-dollar home where they are raising their children together.
Garner is grateful Lopez is keeping Affleck clean
This week, a source close to Garner spoke to the Daily Mail to explain that she is happy for her ex-husband because Lopez is doing a great job at keeping him grounded and away from his addictions.
The friend told the Daily Mail: “Jen wants the best for Ben and really looks out for him and really likes that he is with JLo because she grounds him and steers him away from his previous vices. Jen is very happy with John and feels that Ben should be happy as well in his personal life.”
During the divorce, the Garner source revealed that things became bitter between the pair. However, time is a healer, and the exes have been able to work out their differences.
Affleck and Garner are in a better mental space which benefits their three children. Garner and Affleck have also embraced Lopez’s children.
The insider claimed: “They both have moved on from the bitterness that a divorce can cause and are both the best versions of themselves right now, and they both know that it is what is best for their kids. To be able to incorporate JLo’s kids in the mix on trips or holidays or, in this recent case, Disney.”
The person in the know went on to reveal: “It is just the way their life is right now, it works, and it is as normal as possible. Everyone is friendly and happy with the way life is for all of them.”
Lopez appreciates Garner, but they are not BFFs
A family friend of Lopez revealed to the Daily Mail that she and Garner are not BFFs, but they sure are determined to be great co-parents to the five children.
According to the source, Lopez loves Garner’s children and has plans to be present for them.
The pal stated: “JLo is not going to be best friends with Jen, but they are friendly, and there is no animosity between them both. JLo loves Ben’s kids, and things are vice versa in Ben’s mind. To have each other, they both know they need to be accepting and loving of everything else that comes with them.”
The source claimed Lopez and Affleck are soulmates, which is why this arrangement with Garner will work.
The person concluded by: “That is a big reason why they got back together because they are indeed soulmates but have figured out how to make it last this time around. They have really matured and grown together, and having their kids and exes interact with each other is just what is going to happen. It’s all good.”
The modern-family arrangement seems to be working.
