Three years ago, Prince Harry and his spouse, Meghan Markle, announced they were leaving England for good.
The pair stepped down from their royal duties, packed their belongings, and moved to Canada and later to California with their then-baby boy, Archie.
Markle and Prince Harry’s son is four years old now. He is growing, learning, and curious about the world around him.
He has two loving parents, a little sister, Lilibet, and an adoring grandmother, Doria Ragland, who are present for him and shower him with love and affection.
However, children ask all sorts of questions about themselves and their relatives — especially the members of the family who are far away or no longer alive.
According to a new report, Archie has been asking about his grandfather, King Charles III. It is possible he is also wondering about his maternal grandfather, Thomas Markle Snr.
Archie has never met Thomas Markle Snr who is estranged from Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, over photos he sold to the tabloids days before her royal wedding.
Archie’s innocent questions have Prince Harry feeling remorseful
The little boy last saw His Majesty over a year ago when he traveled with his family to attend Queen Elizabeth II‘s jubilee celebration.
Prince Harry did confirm that Archie and Lilibet do talk to King Charles via Facetime. According to a source, who spoke to the Australian media outlet New Idea, Archie wants to know more about the grandfather he sees on the phone.
The child’s innocent remarks and inquiries have Prince Harry questioning one major decision he recently made — not bringing Archie and Lilibet to King Charles’s coronation ceremony.
The person explained: “The biggest remorse Harry has is about Archie and Lilibet missing out on one of the most important days of their grandfather’s life. William’s kids will be in the history books forever, and his kids won’t rate a mention.”
Archie stirred many emotions in his father when he was quizzed about King Charles.
The insider stated: “Harry’s second thoughts on his hard stance against the royal family went into overdrive recently when Archie began asking about his grandfather.”
Prince Harry is forced to deal with these new feelings because after the revelations in the interviews, the Netflix series, and Spare, getting evicted from Frogmore Cottage, he has noticed a change in his father.
King Charles has softened and seems more than ever ready to embrace his youngest son. The source revealed: “Aside from [Meghan’s mum] Doria, Charles is the only grandparent Archie’s go. Harry has noticed Charles is softening with age and has become a perfect grandpa to Wills’s kids.”
Prince Harry and Markle have tense disagreements over Archie
An emotional Prince Harry has been hit with a deluge of thoughts about his children knowing their English relatives.
He regrets that Archie and Lilibet did not spend more time with their only great-grandparent — Queen Elizabeth II.
The former soldier is eager for his children to travel to London more often, but Markle, who had a tough and painful experience in the UK, is not ready for that move as yet.
The source stated: “Harry wants that for Archie and Lili but knows it would mean more frequent visits to the UK – something Meghan’s not keen on.”
Prince Harry and his spouse do not agree on the possibility of Archie attending the King’s first Trooping the Colour set for June 17.
The Duke of Sussex believes that Lilibet is still young for such a noisy and overwhelming event.
The source said this about Prince Harry and Markle’s heated debates on the trip: “Meghan will put her foot down, she has many meetings and projects on the go, but Harry won’t let Archie miss out on another opportunity. Harry is determined to make it happen and put the past behind him once and for all.”
Many are rooting for the royals in Montecito and the ones in London to make peace.
