As Prince William gets ready to celebrate a major milestone, willingly or not, he has put himself on King Charles III‘s bad side with his latest public actions and words.
Today, the heir to the throne is marking his 41st birthday. He is expected to have a low-key event with his family — Kate Middleton and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis — by his side.
During this joyous occasion, Prince William has been hit with the revelation that he made his father furious by taking part in a surprising interview hours before the Trooping the Colour.
The ceremonial event is performed every year to celebrate the official birthday of the British Sovereign.
King Charles is furious Prince William unveiled his ambitious plans during Trooping the Colour weekend.
Richard Eden, the editor of the Daily Mail Diary and Eden Confidential, wrote an interesting piece this week explaining that King Charles is upset that Prince William sat down for a lengthy interview with The Sunday Times.
Prince William made the bold and impossible announcement that he is on a mission to end homelessness thanks to a revolutionary five-year plan.
Prince William stated: “It’s nerve-racking. But I’m really excited. I’ve been waiting for the right time to do this.”
During the sit-down, Prince William was asked if he would use royal residences, including the 130,000-acre Duchy of Cornwall, to help those in need, and he said: “There is. Absolutely. Social housing. You’ll see that when it’s ready. I’m no policy expert, but I push it where I can.”
The heir to the throne also wants his young children to join in the conversation about homelessness. He told the newspaper: “When I left this morning, one of the things I was thinking was, ‘When is the right time to bring George, Charlotte, or Louis to a homeless organization? I think when I can balance it with their schooling, they will definitely be exposed to it. On the school run, we talk about what we see.”
King Charles is hurt Prince William neglected to mention his dedication to ending homelessness.
King Charles is also furious that Prince William declined to mention his past hard work to eliminate homelessness on the face of the earth.
The royal author stated: “Prince William’s decision to give his first big interview as heir to the throne on the weekend of his father’s inaugural King’s Birthday Parade has put the cat among the pigeons at the palace, I hear. In the interview with The Sunday Times, the Prince talked about his ambitions to ‘end’ homelessness and failed to mention King Charles’s efforts to provide social housing when he was in charge of the Duchy of Cornwall.”
Prince William, who was on a row, also exasperated King Charles with his decision to share his Father’s Day photo before him.
King Charles is not happy with Prince William’s Father’s Day message.
The future King beat His Majesty to the punch with his social media post, which grabbed headlines all day Sunday.
And therefore, King Charles’ Father’s Day post and photo did not get much attention. Kensington Palace released a photo featuring Prince William and his three children.
Many were shocked that Prince William declined to post a photograph of his father and did not publicly wish him a happy Father’s Day.
The Palace Confidential broadcaster went on to say this about the tension between the father and the son: “The timing of the interview will certainly have raised eyebrows at Buckingham Palace,’ a senior former palace official tells me. ‘The interview and the Father’s Day picture have blown His Majesty off the front pages on the weekend of his first King’s Birthday Parade. It could have been sequenced better, especially given that the Duchy social-housing initiative isn’t being launched for a while yet.”
The writer concluded his piece by explaining that King Charles and Prince William have been having a tough time navigating their appearances and managing social media posts.
He said this about Prince William’s decision to walk on his father’s toes with his ill-calculated move: “Media management is a thorny subject in the Royal Family. In his controversial memoir, Spare, Prince Harry claimed he and his brother, William, were restricted in how many public engagements they could undertake.”
As it has been said before, Prince William and Kate Middleton have made it a habit in the past few months to steal King Charles’s thunder (by arriving late at the coronation and the flower show drama), and many royal experts believe there will be repercussions.
