Kate Middleton is a woman in love with her husband, and she has decided to express her feelings towards him in public during their most recent outings.
However, the future Queen of England has been brutally reminded by Prince William that protocols are protocols and that she should not follow Meghan Markle‘s footsteps.
Queen Elizabeth II had many unwritten rules in place. The two famous ones say that the royals should not complain or explain when they are hit with rumors and scandals.
The late Queen was anti-public displays of affection during official events. Which is why she did not hug her children during royal engagements or appearances.
King Charles III and Queen Camilla abide by those rules. However, it seems that Kate Middleton has decided to be more like Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
The self-exiled couple has no problem hugging, kissing, and sharing tender moments when in public. Many of their supporters love that they are PDA-heavy, while others claim some gestures should remain private.
Taking notes from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Kate Middleton opted to touch her husband’s backside at a major event.
Royal and body language expert Judi James spoke to Express and explained why Middleton has decided to increase the PDA.
She told the outlet: “This one fade-out probably had more to do with the fact that the couple appeared to be going down some steps and needing to focus. Here, Kate’s hand goes down to William’s bum. We can’t see if it connects, but as a gesture, the bum pat or touch usually suggests physical attraction or approval.”
She added: “You can pin up a wall full of photos of William and Kate flirting or gazing at each other using the look of love to counter this one moment, and their touch rituals and PDAs seem to be increasing recently, rather than decreasing.”
The power couple attended the Royal Ascot and videos showed that Catherine, Princess of Wales, had placed her hands on Prince William’s back, gazed at him, and lovingly touched his royal derrière.
It seems that Prince William was not thrilled by the move, so he gave his wife a look or signal that she needed to stop.
Kate Middleton was not pleased with Prince William’s decision, but nonetheless, she removed her hand and walked away.
It seems that Prince Harry and Markle will hold the title of PDA king and queen.
