On Sunday, fans of the Oscar winner were delighted when he was finally seen in public. The singer, looking healthy, was spotted enjoying some downtime with his close family and friends.
In a video obtained by TMZ, Foxx was seen waving and smiling as he enjoyed a boat ride on the Chicago River. At some point, the funny man rapidly flashed a peace sign to the fans cheering for him.
Those who support Jamie Foxx are relieved to finally see him looking like his old self again. However, the video has sparked some controversy; a group of people claimed the clip is old and the media is being duped.
These naysayers claimed that Jamie Foxx’s family is hiding him for a mysterious reason. In April, while filming the Netflix film Back in Action alongside Cameron Diaz, Foxx suffered a medical emergency and was rushed to the hospital.
Since then, a ton of bizarre reports have surfaced via anonymous sources, with a few big-name celebrities claiming that Foxx’s health had taken a turn for the worst after a stroke, a fall, the COVID vaccine, etc…
The situation became more worrisome after some of Foxx’s close friends and co-stars revealed they were not allowed to talk to him.
Jamie Foxx’s oldest daughter, Corinne Foxx, attempted to clear up the rumors by releasing an official statement about his health issues. Corinne Foxx gave a brief update while protecting her father’s privacy.
She said at the time: “Luckily due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time.”
Some of Foxx’s friends including Nick Cannon and John Boyega commented in the media to say that they were able to speak to him and he was making progress.
However, the chatters continued with reports claiming that Foxx was unable to walk or talk. Corrine Foxx was forced to once more address the speculations about her father.
She wrote on her Instagram Stories: “Update from the family: Sad to see how the media runs wild. My Dad has been out of the hospital for weeks, recuperating. In fact, he was playing pickleball yesterday! Thanks for everyone’s prayers and support. We have an exciting work announcement coming next week too!”
The situation is emotional for Foxx’s loved ones.
