Kristen Bell stepped away from one scandal and fell right into another. Recently, the actress went viral after sharing a photo from her fun-filled vacation in Swan Valley, Idaho.
Bell, her husband, Dax Shepard, and a long list of celebrities, including Jennifer Aniston, Jason Bateman, and Courtney Cox enjoyed the summer gateway.
Adam Scott, John Mulaney, Olivia Munn, Jimmy Fallon along with Jake Tapper also made appearances in the photo.
The famous friends posed for what was supposed to be a memorable photo while having an outdoor dinner. The internet erupted with what could be called “dinner so white” syndrome.
The comments were harsh toward Bell and Dax. Many slammed them for not having any Black, Latino, or Asian friends at the dinner. Bell ignored the backlash and instead created another scandal by making an odd revelation about her daughters.
She sat down with Kelly Clarkson and confessed that she lets her daughters, Delta, 8, and Lincoln, 9, drink non-alcoholic beer.
In the same breath, Bell reminded the world that her husband is a recovering alcoholic. The Good Place actress claimed that she is a great mother and that her daughters always had an attraction for beer, even when they were babies.
During her appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, she confessed: “It sounds insane, he’s a recovering addict. But he likes non-alcoholic beer, so he’d pop one open, he’d have [our oldest daughter] on his chest, and we’d walk and look at the sunset.”
The actress went on to share that Lincoln was fascinated by the beverage when she was a baby. She claimed: “As a baby, she was pawing at it, and sometimes she’d suck on the rim of it. So, I think it feels to her like something special, something daddy, something family.”
Bell went on to confess that her daughters create awkward moments at restaurants when they ask for non-alcoholic beers in restaurants.
She stated: “We’ve been at restaurants where she’s said, ‘Do you have any non-alcoholic beer?’ And I’m like, ‘Maybe we just keep that for home time. But then I’m sort of like, ‘You can judge me if you want, I’m not doing anything wrong. That’s your problem.”
Earlier this year, the Frozen star told Real Simple that she has no taboos with her children and they talk about everything, including addiction and sex.
She stated: “I hate the word taboo and believe there should be no topic that’s off the table for people to talk about. I talk to my kids about drugs, and the fact that their daddy is an addict and he’s in recovery, and we talk about sex.”
Dax, who has been sober for almost 20 years, had a brief relapse in 2020 and took the decision to have drug tests at their home, so his wife could test him.
