Madonna‘s recent health scare has pushed some people close to her to speak out. Last month, the queen of pop rattled many, including her family members, after she was rushed to a New York hospital.
It was revealed that she was found unresponsive. The singer and songwriter spent many days in the ICU with her children by her side.
Sources close to the family told the Daily Mail that for a brief moment, they feared that she would not make it.
Madonna’s hospitalization also implied that she had postponed her highly anticipated Celebration Tour.
At the time, people familiar with the situation revealed that they were concerned because she was pushing herself too much to compete with Taylor Swift and younger artists.
However, a second insider has come out to say that the “Like a Virgin” artist has her loved ones worried sick because she refuses to scale back her grueling schedule.
The insider said, via The Sun: “The countdown was well and truly on. Madonna had all her chips on one number, which was this tour. She was working overtime, but she clearly burned herself out, and people around her have been politely reminding her that she is not 45 anymore, let alone 25.”
Another family friend told The Sun that Madonna has her relatives concerned that she will do a repeat of Michael Jackson, who fatally pushed himself while rehearsing for his last tour.
The worried pal told the media outlet: “Many of us feel the constant remarks about her age have put pressure on her to compete, so we are relieved that she has been forced to take time out and put her health first. People were really worried about her. Nobody would say it out loud but there were concerns about another Michael Jackson situation if she doesn’t slow down a bit.”
The insider shared: “Everyone saw something like this coming because of her intense schedule, but only a few were brave enough to tell her that they were concerned.”
It seems that the queen of pop is determined to prove that the rumors are wrong. On Monday, the legendary singer surprised social media with a sweet photo in which she posed alongside Beyoncé and their daughters.
Madonna snapped the picture backstage at Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour show in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
Beyoncé and Jay-Z‘s daughter, Rumi, 6, made an appearance in the photo alongside Madonna’s daughters — Mercy, and twin Stella, 10, and Estere, who is 17.
This was Madonna’s first major public outing since her hospitalization. This week, she also took to Instagram to give a health update, reassure her fans that she is doing well, and reveal that the tour has been rescheduled.
She wrote: “Love from family and friends is the best Medicine. One month out of the hospital and I can reflect. As a Mother you can get caught up in the needs Of your children and the seemingly endless giving……… But when the chips were down my children showed up for me. I saw a side to them I had never seen before. It made all the difference.”
She added: “So did the love and support from my friends. If you zoom into this Picture I am holding You will see A Polaroid taken by Andy Warhol of Keith Haring wearing a jacket with Michael Jackson’s face painted on it. A perfect triangle of Brilliance. Artist who touched so many lives including my own.”
She concluded by: “I sobbed when I opened this gift because I realized how lucky I am to be alive. And how fortunate I am to have known these people and so many others who are also gone. And Thank you to all my angels who protected me and let me Stay to finish doing my work!”
