After a complicated summer, it seems that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are getting some mind-blowing good news for the fall.
Days following the confirmation that they had been booted by Spotify, they were hit with horrific rumors about the state of their marriage.
Everything indicated that they were heading for a divorce. The pair were also the subject of brutal rumors that Netflix was not certain about their future collaboration.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle seemed to have an uncertain future, which led to loud chatter. It was claimed that they were ready to pack their fancy suitcases and beg King Charles III and Prince William for their old royal jobs back.
It has been confirmed that their marriage is on solid footing, and Netflix has invested massively in the pair’s upcoming project.
The streaming giant showed how much faith they have in Prince Harry and Markle by spending $3 million to obtain the rights to the bestselling fiction book Meet Me at the Lake by Carley Fortune.
Prince Harry and Markle’s company, Archewell Productions, will produce the film based on the book.
The story mirrors Prince Harry and Markle’s lives, for it tells the story of a couple who rekindled their romance in their thirties — the man is struggling after the loss of his mother while the woman is dealing with depression.
A source close to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex spoke to Page Six and explained that the pair have finally found the right team to help them implement their vision.
The insider stated: “Meghan and Harry have a lot of logs in the fire. Production is one piece of the pie. It’s not all entirely shaped by Ari [Emanuel, who is leading Meghan’s team]—they’ve had the deal with Netflix for a while. They have the right team and vision in place and execution is happening.”
The person in the know claimed that Markle has been inspired by Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine production company.
Witherspoon has built a multi-million-dollar company turning books into films or miniseries.
The insider claimed: “Meghan’s not doing a Reese or making acquisitions for herself. She doesn’t want to direct or act. Meghan wants to be a bit of Reese, a bit of Gwyneth [Paltrow, founder of Goop], a bit of Princess Kate, a bit of Gloria Steinem.”
The founder of Movie Metropolis Adam Brannon told FEMAIL that he predicts that Prince Harry and Markle will have massive success with the project.
He went as far as claiming that it will be one of Netflix’s biggest streaming projects.
Brannon delivered this suprising and positive news by saying: “There is potential for Meet Me at the Lake to be one of Netflix’s most popular films, joining the likes of Red Notice, The Adam Project, Purple Hearts, and Extraction.”
He added: “Romance films, especially those based on novels generally perform very well on the streaming service, becoming sleeper hits in which they silently rack up millions of viewing hours over longer periods of time when compared to all-out blockbusters.”
It seems that the Sussexes will find a path to success.
