Prince William and his spouse, Kate Middleton, have decided to live by Queen Elizabeth II‘s rule of never complaining and never explaining.
However, it seems they have friends who have decided to do their ugly bidding for them by talking or leaking stories to the media.
Some believe these chatty friends are doing a disservice to Princess Kate and Prince William.
In the past few months, more than ever, the media has been heavily focused on a tag given to Prince William and Kate Middleton: “lazy.”
Many royal experts cited William, Prince of Wales, and Catherine, Princess of Wales‘s decision to be the opposite of King Charles III and Queen Elizabeth when it comes to raising children and for having a lighter workload compared to the formidable Anne, Princess Royal.
It is claimed that Middleton and Prince William are determined to have at least one parent at home when their three children return from school, which is why the pair declined many royal engagements and only accepted short overseas visits.
The heir and the future Queen want to give their children a normal childhood. However, reports have been circulating that it is an excuse to be unproductive and enjoy extended vacations that are paid for by the British taxpayers.
Being crowned the procrastinators of the Royal Family appears to have irked Prince William and Princess Kate to the point that they had a close pal publicly defend them.
Speaking to The Daily Beast, the pal slammed the insinuation that Prince William and his spouse are work-shy.
The royal insider claimed: “If the accusation is that Kate isn’t pulling her weight, that is absurd, and everyone who knows them knows it. It is not exactly a state secret that she has three children aged 10, 8, and 5 on whom the future of the monarchy depends.”
The family friend went on to say: “She works incredibly hard. They have had this type of criticism from the press before, and I’m sure they will have it again. It’s water off a duck’s back. Real people understand that you have to prioritize your children at that age, and you can’t both just go flying off to New York at the drop of a hat. The fact that they both consistently receive very high approval ratings shows that the public gets it, even if the Daily Mail wants to find fault.”
It seems that Middleton and Prince William are shooting themselves in the foot by accepting that their pal put the spotlight on this embarrassing story.
Many believe that the “lazy headline” would have eventually disappeared from news outlets like the Daily Mail for yet another unsurprising story about Joe Biden‘s age or Meghan Markle‘s determination and drive to have a successful career.
It appears that the royal husband and wife need to teach their associates that silence is sometimes golden.
