In a very short amount of time, the sizzling romance between Taylor Swift And Travis Kelce has become the top trending topic in the country.
The alliance between an NFL star and a pop culture phenomenon is grabbing headlines left and right. It did not take long for the issue to become political.
The music superstar started in the country genre. However, in the past seven years, her politics have grown more Democratic. Kelce is also embracing causes that critics call “woke.”
Those elements explain why many conservatives on social media are going after Swift. Some have even gone as far as saying that she is totally overrated.
Despite all the noise, some on the right are still asking for people to leave the couple alone. Sean Hannity of Fox News fame is defending Swift, and he is doing it with a lot of passion.
It is a surprising position for the conservative political commentator, but he is sticking to it for now. Hannity used his show to defend the power couple against haters.
He said: “I want to say something before we get [started.]. I look at Taylor Swift – [and] if I picked my music based on their politics, I’d have five choices. Let’s be honest. You know, country and Christian contemporary, which are my favorites.”
Hannity continued: “But I admire her talent. She writes all her songs, she does these shows that have like nearly 50 songs — you know, sets in them. She’s a great businesswoman, seems like a lovely girl, and is extraordinarily nice to her fans. I kind of hate people, you know, hating on her.”
His statements on this subject are laudable. However, many do not feel the same way. Radio personality Christopher “Mad Dog” Russo is one of the critics.
Russo stated: “I’m not into Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, so try somebody else for that. I could care less. I don’t care if Taylor Swift is nude in the box. I’m not that interested. I’m sorry, I could care less.”
Even former President Donald Trump weighed in on the hot romance. However, he was a little snarky when the Daily Caller asked him about it in an interview.
Trump shared: “I wish the best for both of them. I hope they enjoy their life, maybe together, maybe not — most likely not.”
Swift has recently urged her supporters to register to vote. Her swift call to action led to the registration of at least 35,000 new voters.
Critics say she has become too open about left-leaning activism.
