In the past couple of years, Prince Harry has had a successful run with the Invictus Games, but it seems that is soon coming to an end because Prince William is about to take over.
Prince Harry launched the games in 2014 for wounded, injured, and sick servicemen and women, both serving and veterans. There have been successful competitions in the Netherlands, London, Germany, and Australia.
Royal expert Jennie Bond wrote in the Telegraph and explained why the games are one of Prince Harry’s biggest accomplishments: “There have been five Games since the inaugural event in London in 2014 and, in a week or so, this year’s Games will open in Düsseldorf. Harry and Meghan (who famously went public with their relationship at the Toronto Games six years ago) will be there. Harry will give another inspirational speech. He is at his absolute best when he’s amongst his military family: confident, proud, and authoritative.”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been applauded for the most recent games in Düsseldorf.
Markle has even announced that the Invictus Games will be part of their legacy, with plans to bring their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, to the games.
Prince William plans to cancel Prince Harry’s biggest accomplishment by directly competing with him and launching his sporting event in New York.
It has been confirmed that the heir to the throne has filed a trademark in New York for a big sporting event. It seems that Prince William will be hosting an annual race in the United States.
According to the Express: “The application also seeks to trademark “printed matter, banners, and posters… about charitable activities in the field of mental health; printed race numbers, clothing, footwear, headgear.”
A legal expert familiar with trademark applications told Express that it is “unusual to explicitly specify printed race numbers in such a request.”
The lawyer believes that Prince William will be hosting “a race or fun run in the United States.”
The law expert added: “Normally the language is fairly broad and all-encompassing but for this application to mention race bibs, in particular, might suggest they are thinking about hosting some sort of race or fun run here in the States?”
Last month, Prince William flew to the Big Apple for an Earthshot event. Despite having a tight schedule of meddling with billionaires and politicians, he took some time to go jogging in Central Park, which might have served as the launch of the “William’s Royal Race for Success” campaign or marathon.
It is unclear how Prince Harry will respond to the challenge.
