After asking Britney Spears to cry him an entire river, Justin Timberlake has decided to put up walls to prevent the heavy waters from washing his reputation and peace of mind away.
Spears broke the mother of all records with her memoir entitled The Woman in Me, which sold over 9 million copies in its first week, beating Prince Harry and Michelle Obama.
The book dealt with Spears’s childhood, career, failed relationships, and her complex relationship with fame. However, of course, the viral quotes from the memoir are about her tumultuous romance with Justin Timberlake.
The biggest revelation about Spears and Timberlake’s relationship was the bombshell pregnancy that led to a heartbreaking abortion.
The book got Spears a lot of love and support, and it opened the door to thousands of hateful comments. Justin Timberlake was quick to put up his defense mechanism: he closed his comment section on Instagram.
A source close to the crooner told Page Six that he made the move because of the “hateful, disgusting things people were saying” on his page.
In the book, the “Work B*tch” singer revealed that she had an abortion after Timberlake discovered that she was pregnant.
She confessed: “But Justin definitely wasn’t happy about the pregnancy. He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young.”
Spears also claimed Timberlake — whom she dated from 1999 to 2002 — cheated on her with a famous woman.
She ridiculed Timberlake for being a White boy who was desperate to fit in the hip-hop and R&B worlds during the early 2000s.
Spears recounted a bizarre meeting between Timberlake and “Pony” singer Ginuwine. She wrote: “Walking our way was a guy with a huge, blinged-out medallion. He was flanked by two giant security guards. J got all excited and said so loud, ‘Oh, yeah! Fo shiz, fo shiz, Ginuwine! What’s up, homie?’”
Justin Timberlake has not commented on the book, but people close to him say he is upset about it. The sources told the Daily Mail that he has no plans to reach out to his ex about the fascinating piece of literature.
The insiders stated: “Justin has not reached out to Britney at all about any of this, and he is not going to because there is nothing he can say to her. Justin is not at all happy about what has come out in this book.”
Some observers are wondering if his brand can fully recover after the revelations.
