Travis Barker Gets Some Backing From Fans Amid Unexpected Backlash After Kourtney Kardashian Gave Birth

Travis Barker and his wife, Kourtney Kardashian, are over the moon after welcoming their baby boy, Rocky 13 Barker.

However, the Blink-182 musician is facing some backlash on social media for playing drums in the delivery room as Kardashian was getting ready to give birth.

In a video he shared on his Instagram Stories on Thursday, Barker, 47, can be seen playing the drum along with the child’s heartbeat. Barker was using a drum pad.

The proud dad saw the whole thing as a cute moment that he wanted to share with the rest of the world. Barker even used the following caption: “Practicing to my babies heartbeat 🥁.”

Many on social media did not share his enthusiasm and were quick to share their opinion. Critics say that pregnant mothers need a calm environment.

However, some commenters came to Barker’s defense. One person stated: ” mean I really don’t see the problem, maybe a little cheesy with the drumming and all that but he is a drummer I mean all three of my kids when they were born I was in the room hell I was even cracking jokes with the doctors at one point.”

A second follower chimed in: “It’s not even a real drum.. it’s a pad that drummers use to practice on that barely makes any noise. Plus I wouldn’t wanna sit around in a hospital with pretty much nothing to do. who cares what he does. at least he’s there helping Kourtney whenever she needs it.”

A third Instagrammer added: “You all don’t even know ladies crave weird things while in labor damn ,lord Jesus people down here so concerned about others than theirs down here.”

The intense conversation also reached other places. Moreover, The View co-host Sunny Hostin had a lot to say on the matter.

She stated: “I love it for her. I personally would have wanted to punch him in the throat because when you are in labor and you are birthing, you need, like, zen.”

Hostin continued: “I just remembered my son for his third birthday got a drum and I wanted to die. It’s so loud. It’s not calming!”

To her credit, Hostin said that the ultimate choice should be left to Kardashian. It seems that the reality TV star was more than okay with what Barker did.

The power couple was seen leaving the hospital on Tuesday. Kardashian has three children from her relationship with Scott Disick — Mason, Reign, and Penelope.

Barker is the father of Landon and Alabama, and the stepfather of Atiana De La Hoya. They are all from his romance with former model and actress Shanna Moakler.
