On his birthday, King Charles III, who has been ignoring all of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s telephone calls, text messages, and other attempts to make contact, decided to accept a “warm” call from the pair.
The trio spoke cordially, and they have made plans to chat again next week. His Majesty was said to be delighted to receive a heartwarming video from his two grandchildren, Archie and Lilibet.
Archie and Lilibet sang the happy birthday song for their grandfather, King Charles. Royal sources spoke to The Telegraph, detailing every aspect of the private phone call.
The media outlet revealed it was a turning point for His Majesty and the Sussex couple and added: “The King and Prince Harry will speak again next week after a phone call for the Monarch’s 75th birthday marked a “turning point” in their relationship. Father and son enjoyed a warm conversation on Tuesday after the Duke of Sussex, 39, called his father to wish him a happy birthday. After a lengthy spell during which the two have barely spoken, the chat marked a notable shift in tone.”
More details were leaked to the publication, including King Charles’s reaction to the video of the little prince and princess: “The King also spoke on the phone with Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex. Prince Archie, four, and Princess Lilibet, two, are understood to have recorded a video of themselves singing happy birthday to their grandfather, whom they have only met on a handful of occasions but which would have delighted them.”
It went on to say: “The fact that both sides have signaled a desire to bury the hatchet and start to mend their relationship was hailed as a positive sign that was celebrated on both sides of the Atlantic.”
For more than six months, His Majesty has snubbed the Montecito royals, refused to talk to them, evicted them from their London home, and declined to give Prince Harry a room at Windsor Castle for one night.

According to an excerpt: “Though he hasn’t found closure with his family, he’s accepted that things are unlikely to change, particularly with his brother — who refuses to even properly talk with him,” said a source. As Harry later explained to a friend, “I’m ready to move on past it. Whether we get an apology or accountability, who knows? Who cares at this point?”
It seems that the duo have been forced to sell their souls, their pride, and all they fought for in the past four years for a rapprochement with the Monarch.
