Meghan Markle is discovering the heavy price that she and her husband, Prince Harry, will have to pay for their decision to initiate the race conversation around the Royal Family.
Meghan Markle was seen with a huge victory smile on her face strolling in Santa Barbara, after the mistranslation of the book Endgame in the Netherlands, where King Charles III and Kate Middleton were named as the royal racists who made comments about Prince Archie.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s names were dominating the news, they were seen as heroes who exposed the Royal Family’s racist ways.
Supporters were hoping that Markle would be named Time‘s Person Of The Year for her bravery in removing that embarrassing veil shielding the British clan.
However, less than a week after the revelation of the names, Markle’s smile was wiped out, and her grandiose plans and hopes have been deflated twice.
The activist was hit with a double slap — one in her professional life and the other in her relationship with King Charles.
Earlier this year, it was announced that Markle scored a major win by signing at the prestigious William Morris Endeavor (WME).
The talent agency represents some of the biggest stars in the world. Markle confirmed at a recent red carpet-event that she had big things coming.
Rumors claimed she had multiple multi-million-dollar projects lined up. However, the Dutch-British racist drama has dramatically changed the conversation.
It is believed that there is a possibility that the agency is thinking of dropping Markle as a client because she is too stained and has become non-bankable.
Brand and culture expert Nick Ede told The Daily Mail that all the drama has made Markle too hot to handle.
He explained: “The book written by Omid Scobie is potentially a career incendiary device for Meghan. Just as Harry’s own goal of a book has proved for him, the new book by Scobie unfortunately has fuelled a fire that many had thought would die down. “The issue for a huge Hollywood agent is that they will find it hard to navigate the career of Meghan fearing that more will come out over time and that, with court cases looming from her sister and potentially her father, she has tarnished her reputation and could potentially damage the reputation of her agency.”
He added: “Meghan in the right hands is a superpower – the world’s most famous woman – and on paper she could make millions for herself and for whoever represents her. But she’s proving to be too hot to handle and, even though she hasn’t said anything about the book, she’s guilty by association and this is damaging for her and others as she plots her next career move.”
On a personal front, Markle has discovered that she is viewed as guilty by association by King Charles.
The nasty headlines have pushed King Charles to cancel plans to invite Markle, Prince Harry, and their young children — Archie and Lilibet — to England for the Christmas holidays.
A scheduled telephone call has also been canceled. Markle, who has done a marvelous job at keeping in touch with His Majesty by giving him updates on his grandchildren, is now iced out by the family once more.
Royal expert Duncan Larcombe explained the racist scandal had ruined the chance of a reconciliation and added: “It has put them right back to square one. There’s now pressure being put on Harry to come out and distance himself from the book, and I think that will be very tempting for him to do because it seems he has been trying to soften his tone towards the royals.”
He also told OK!: “There were some green shoots that he might be trying to end the feud from his side. So the timing of the book couldn’t be worse for Harry. I think it’s his worst nightmare.”
Markle is learning a lot this week.
