There is a war going on between Justin Timberlake and his ex-girlfriend, Britney Spears, and things are getting nastier by the minute.
In late 2023, Britney Spears published her bombshell memoir entitled The Woman In Me. The book rapidly became a bestseller, thanks to the many juicy details that she revealed about her complex career and even more complicated personal life.
The biggest revelations in the book were about Justin Timberlake. The world learned for the first time that Spears was pregnant with Timberlake’s child, and she had an abortion because they were too young to be parents.
The pop princess hinted that she regrets that life-changing decision to this day. Spears also dropped the bombshell that Timberlake cheated on her with a big Hollywood star.
Timberlake responded with boiling anger to the revelations and accusations. He decided to pull a selfish move on Britney Spears.
He eventually dropped a song entitled “Selfish,” and Spears’s fans hit back the best way ever. Backers pushed Spears’s 2011 song, also entitled “Selfish,” to the top of the charts.
Fans rejoiced as Spears’s track hit number one, beating Timberlake. The pop diva surprised many by taking to Instagram to praise Timberlake’s new song.
She also took the opportunity to apologize to him. Spears wrote: “I wanna apologize for some of the things I wrote about in my book. If I offended any of the people I genuinely care about, I am deeply sorry. I also wanted to say I am in love with Justin Timberlake’s new song, “Selfish.”
Justin Timberlake was quick to answer Spears’s apology by slamming her. This week, Justin Timberlake celebrated his birthday with a concert in New York City, and he made it clear he has “nobody” to apologize to.
Before singing his 2002 hit “Cry Me a River,” the former NSYNC artist told the audience: “I’d like to take this opportunity to apologize to absolutely f—ing nobody.”
A source told Page Six that Timberlake is furious about what Spears and her fans have done.
The person in the known stated: “Justin is seething over renewed drama, with his ex-girlfriend Britney overshadowing his new music. Justin had hoped the backlash [from Spears’ memoir] would’ve blown over by now so that he could focus on his new album, which he’s very excited about, but every day is something new.”
Spears caught wind of Timberlake’s words and quickly deleted the apology. She also sent a warning shot to Timberlake by telling him to go cry to his mother.
She wrote: “Someone told me someone was talking about me on the streets !!! Do you want to bring it to the court, or will you go home crying to your mom like you did last time ??? I’m not sorry !!!”
The feud will go on for a while.
