His Majesty explained that it is not prostate cancer and went on to give a hopeful update — he is in the care of the best doctors, and his treatment is promising.
King Charles called his two sons, Prince William and Prince Harry personally, to share the devastating news.
Prince Harry immediately jumped on a plane and flew to London to be by his father’s side. The Duke of Sussex opted to travel to the UK without Meghan Markle and their two children, Archie and Lilibet.
It has since been revealed that King Charles saw his son for 30 minutes, boarded a helicopter, and flew. Prince Harry has not been authorized to sleep in one of the 10 castles, 12 homes, and 56 holiday cottages owned by King Charles.
Instead, Prince Harry is staying at a hotel in London. After the brief meeting with King Charles, Prince Harry returned to California. While the focus was on King Charles’s health issues, many royal watchers and pundits zoomed in on Markle’s absence.
Why did she stay in California during King Charles’s time of need? Meghan Markle has decided to make a respectful and humbling move and stay out of the spotlight. She has stayed back in California so the prince and The King can have a private and heartbreaking moment together.
The father and son have a lot to work through before they can reconcile, so Markle’s presence was not required at the time, and she is aware of it.
Additionally, Markle does not want to bring additional drama and stress to King Charles and Kate Middleton, who are both battling serious health issues at the moment.
However, she has given her blessing for her husband to see his ailing father. Nonetheless, it has been revealed that King Charles and Queen Camilla would “cautiously welcome” her back in London.
The Daily Mail revealed: “The Palace has confirmed that Charles told each of his sons about his diagnosis personally. Harry announced that he was flying home to London immediately. Will his children soon join him, as the King and Queen would surely hope? One senses that even Meghan might be cautiously welcomed. Charles did, after all, walk her down the aisle.”
