Prince William has managed to briefly take the attention off King Charles III and Kate Middleton, who are battling a private health crisis.
This is when the press dropped the line of questioning about Middleton’s whereabouts and about King Charles’s cancer, for what might or might not be an urgent and concerning matter involving the heir to the throne.
It all started after Kensington Palace made the surprising announcement that Prince William would not be attending a memorial service for the late King Constantine of Greece, who was also his godfather.
The ambiguous statement simply claimed that the father of three was forced to pull out of church service at the last minute for “unspecified personal reasons.”
The media went into full panic mode, believing that Kate Middleton might have gotten worse, but an update was given about the princess’s health. A rep said “Kate is doing well.”
Many believed that Prince William was perhaps taking some personal time because of the sudden death of Thomas Kingston, the husband of Lady Gabriella Windsor.
However, in a bizarre move, The Palace confirmed that was not the reason why Prince William was skipping the event.
Prince William’s absence pushed wild theories and led to a variety of think pieces that all claimed that the monarchy was in shambles because of these many health issues, deaths, and not enough manpower to handle the jobs.
Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams described The Prince of Wales‘s cancellation as “very strange,” telling The Daily Mail: “William’s non-appearance at the Memorial Service for his godfather, King Constantine, the last king of Greece, owing to a personal matter, is certainly unexpected. This will be an event that William will be extremely sad to have been unable to attend. King Charles was close to King Constantine and his second cousin. Queen Camilla led the royal family. Princess Anne deputized for him at the King’s funeral in Greece last year, as he could not attend owing to a prior commitment.”
Royal biographer Phil Dampier told Mail Online that the move was “worrying” and went on to share: “Constantine was his godfather and very close to all the royals, particularly King Charles, and he would have wanted William there as he didn’t attend. William only lives a stone’s throw away, so it’s very concerning.”
Royal expert, Neil Sean, revealed the heartbreaking reason why Prince William chose to stay home instead of giving the scheduled reading.
The FOX News contributor claimed one of the couple’s three children was less than stellar, forcing the father and future King to stay in Adelaide for the sake of the well-being of his family.
He explained: “Catherine is allowed to live her private life, but when you have an escalation, of stories like this at the 11th hour, with, of course, the Prince of Wales seemingly pulling out without well too much information, then naturally people do get very concerned. That is the reason why I’m. I’m telling you, Chums, that’s what I’ve been told. You know, the bottom line is that this happens with three children; one of them was less than stellar, shall we say, not necessarily feeling their very best, and on this particular occasion.”
He concluded by: “The Prince of Wales, Prince William, made a decision about where he wanted to be, and right now, with Katherine incapacitated and no doubt struggling herself, he decided he was needed at home with full backing. I might point out to his majesty the king and the queen, who, as I say, did a sterling job in leading out this particular event.”
No one can The Prince of Wales for thinking of his family.
