Reports that Meghan Markle has been in contact with King Charles III have not been exaggerated. Markle has used her phone and pen to reach out to His Majesty for various reasons.
The duchess sends King Charles videos of Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet so he can be updated on their growth. She also hopes these delightful clips will make him smile while battling cancer.
However, Markle has also written to her father-in-law to share her grievances. One particular secret exchange between Markle and the King did not end well.
Many believe it was a significant turning point in the relationship between the former actress and the reigning Monarch of England.
In that one letter, Markle might have understood that the King is not up to her standards and will never understand her background and challenges in life.
Remember that bombshell interview where Markle and Prince Harry revealed two racists made insensitive remarks about Prince Archie? Well, the cracks between Markle and the King started there.
The former actress shared: “In those months when I was pregnant, all around this same time . So we have in tandem the conversation of ‘He won’t be given security, he’s not going to be given a title’ and also concerns and conversations about how dark his skin might be when he’s born.”
Upon discovering Markle’s painful confession about her mental distress, King Charles decided to write her a touching letter to better understand what she went through and how to help her.
According to E News, royal author Omid Scobie revealed in the book Endgame: “Sources said that Charles wanted to make it clear to Meghan that he didn’t feel the remarks regarding skin color were made with “ill will” or “casual prejudice.”
Scobie revealed that the pair “had a respectful back-and-forth, but that the then-Prince of Wales and Meghan likely still didn’t regard the incident in the same way.”
This week, OK! spoke to a royal insider who claimed Meghan Markle believed that King Charles did not go far enough in his reaction to the letter she wrote him.
Markle deemed it “unsatisfactory,” adding that King Charles was “raising concerns about unconscious bias.” Upset by King Charles’s failure to be more receptive to her pain and suffering, the Duchess of Sussex decided to skip the coronation.
It has since been accidentally revealed that King Charles and Kate Middleton had made the remarks about Archie. Markle said via her rep that it was never her plan for the identities of the royals to be revealed.
