The King, who is battling cancer, is furious with his son, who destroyed his reputation and hurt the Royal Family with his revelations and accusations via a string of interviews, books, and Netflix series.
However, he is not furious to the point of washing his hands completely from Prince Harry.
In a momentous decision, His Majesty has chosen to brave the storm and will meet with Prince Harry during his upcoming trip to London.
Without Meghan Markle, Prince Harry will travel to the UK to be at St Paul’s Cathedral on May 8 for an exceptional service to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, a significant event that celebrates the resilience and courage of wounded, injured, and sick service personnel and veterans.
The government put this grandiose effort forward, hoping to convince Prince Harry to hold the upcoming games in the UK. It has been confirmed that King Charles will meet with Prince Harry this month.
However, Queen Camilla, who was belittled and insulted, has chosen not to see her stepson due to the emotional strain and the need to protect her husband’s well-being.
A source told Express: “Let’s just say that the Queen might be otherwise engaged. Although the King will have time in his diary for a brief visit, that has yet to be confirmed due to the garden party schedule. Even if Harry does meet with his father, it is doubtful that Camilla will be in the same room.”
Royal expert Tom Quinn told The Mirror that it would be an awkward face-to-face meeting, given the strained relationship and the sensitive nature of the issues between them, but King Charles has a few reasons to see his son.
He also stated that King Charles might try to give Prince Harry more than 30 minutes. He claimed: “When the two meet, it will almost certainly be a longer meeting than last time when father and son spent just 30 minutes together, but Camilla is likely to be there simply because she feels so protective of her husband and won’t want him to be upset at such a difficult time. Also, despite much that has been written, Camila is exceptionally diplomatic and good at dealing with difficult situations and difficult people. If anyone can steer comfortably through a meeting with Harry, Camilla can – which is why Charles will want her there.”
The royal author suggested: “Charles wants to see Harry despite his illness as he won’t want to be seen avoiding his son even if the meeting is awkward and difficult. Like William, Charles always makes a point of seeming generous and magnanimous. He is aware that this contrasts well with his often-petulant son; Charles and Harry know that everyone will be watching to see if they meet, and neither wants to be the one blamed for rejecting the other.”
Magnanimous no more, Prince William has decided that he will protect his sick wife’s mental well-being and will avoid any contact with Prince Harry.
