King Charles III has been gradually cutting ties with his youngest son, Prince Harry, and his wife, Meghan Markle, a move that has been making headlines.
His Majesty‘s actions have affected his relationship with his son and daughter-in-law and created a significant distance between him and his two young grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
This week, Prince Archie celebrated his fifth birthday, and once more, he was not acknowledged by his grandfather. The child did not receive any public birthday wishes from any Royal Family members.
There was a time when King Charles, Queen Camilla, Prince William, and Kate Middleton wrote public messages for Prince Archie and his sister, Princess Lilibet’s birthdays.
However, as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle moved deeper into the revelations and accusations about the Royal Family, King Charles ended the sweet messages to the Sussex children.
The royal rules were also changed — courtiers have confirmed that only working members of the Royal Family will receive public acknowledgment on their special day.
This change, implemented after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped back from their royal duties, reflects the new slimmed-down and drama-free direction the Royal Family is taking under King Charles’s reign.
However, many believe King Charles decided to mark the end of the era of politeness and sociability because he thought Prince Harry and Markle had ruined his first year as Monarch.
Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams weighed in by saying that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have boxed themselves and their children into this messy situation by launching “unfair” attacks on the Firm.
These attacks, as detailed in their bombshell Oprah Winfrey interviews and Spare, the memoir, and the Netflix series, have accused the royal family of racism, physical and mental abuse, and neglect despite the couple continuing to benefit from their royal affiliations and connections.
The veteran royal commentator told The Sun: “The facts simply are with Harry and Megan that after Spare, enough was enough, so he had them evicted from Frogmore Cottage, and I don’t think they expected it. And they certainly didn’t like it.”
He added:”But the revelations in Spare, and not only the attacks on the Royal Family in that book and in the interviews surrounding it, which large numbers of people watched, of course, that Harry was responsible for, and it was his memoir. These revelations, which included personal and sensitive information about the royal family, have further strained the relationship between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and the rest of the Royal Family.”
Prince Harry is facing a wall when it comes to his relationship with the Royal Family.
