Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton, are making plans for their children. Many view this decision by the Wales couple as heartbreaking and not thoroughly thought out.
Middleton and Prince William’s future goals for their three children emerged during a heated debate about King Charles III‘s controversial policy to slim down the monarchy.
During the Trooping the Colour, it became evident that King Charles’s daring move to empty Buckingham Palace’s balcony had gone too far.
The parents will push their youngest son and only daughter not to become working royals. The family friend shared via The Daily Mail: “When the older members of the family retire, (William) won’t be inviting anyone else to become working royals. It remains to be seen if he will even want his two younger children to be working royals.”
When the report reached Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales, they confirmed that they agreed with His Majesty.
Princess Kate and the heir to the throne took the opportunity to open a broader conversation about their plans for their three children — Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6.
According to a close friend of William, Prince of Wales and Middleton will push for their youngest children, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, to take other routes away from the Royal Family.
Another source spoke to The Daily Beast to elaborate on the heartbreaking portion of the report. According to the royal insider, when George inherits the Kingdom, he will be alone and have no support system because his siblings, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, will never ask to take on the roles of spares.
The source stated: “It’s absolutely true. The option isn’t there for Prince George, of course, but the children have been kept at arm’s length from royal life. They are exposed to the minimum possible publicity, and that is a deliberate strategy to let Charlotte and Louis choose their own destiny.”
The confidant, who talked to The Daily Beast, said that Prince William has seen how the concept of heir/spare has destroyed his relationship with Prince Harry.
The pal said: “It is no secret that William has been devastated by the destruction of his relationship with Harry. Although he absolutely puts the blame on Meghan and Harry, he does, of course, also appreciate that the whole system, where one of your kids is less important than the other due to an accident of birth, had a massive part to play in what happened and how it happened.”
According to the source, Princess Kate and Prince William would be delighted if their two youngest children left the monarchy, settled down with careers, and had families.
The source stated: “There is an entirely reasonable argument to be made that if you are born into the Royal Family, the logical thing to do is to leave it. The same logic applies to your kids; he doesn’t want to put them through a human mincer, which is going to cause everyone misery. He and Catherine adore the children, and their whole lives are about the children. I think they want to find a practical solution to the ‘spare’ problem that has bedeviled the family for generations.”
